I've been running the odd feature lately on the most fabulous Vintage style Wedding entertainment acts, and this chap falls into that category.
Simon Partridge is a professional singer with a passion for performing songs from the 1920s to the 1950s. He uses authentic backing tracks so you get the unmistakable sound and feel of the big-band era without the hassle or expense of a full band.
Simon is based in the Midlands in Lichfield, Staffordshire, but covers the whole of the UK…

"I take great pride in being as authentic as I possibly can. Looking the part is very important – the suit, the vintage microphone etc. I take a lot of time when I’m choosing new songs for my repertoire (which currently stands at around seventy titles). Everything has to sound absolutely authentic too. I only use backing tracks recorded with live musicians.
There are so many great songs that I love to sing, but one that always goes down especially well at weddings is “Cheek to Cheek”. Hard to believe it’s seventy-five years since Fred Astaire first sang it, but as soon as people hear the opening words, “Heaven, I’m in heaven…” they begin to sing along."
"It always makes people smile and want to dance. That’s what’s so wonderful about these songs – “Let’s Face the Music and Dance”, “The Way You Look Tonight”, “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square” and so many more – they’ve survived all these years because they say something absolutely timeless about love and they say it so beautifully. It really doesn’t get any more romantic!
One of my favourite songs is a number called 'I’m Old Fashioned” by Jerome Kern and Johnny Mercer' and that sums me up in a nutshell, really! I love the old songs, the old movies, the old fashions and have done for as long as I can remember. I’m so pleased the rest of the world has finally caught up with me! I’ve been “vintage” since it was just plain 'old fashioned!'"
