This wedding is a pure explosion of colour. And I flippin' well love it! Laura and Ben tied the knot on 13 June 2009 at the family home where Laura grew up, in Olveston, South Gloucestershire.
Bride Laura is the owner of Bombay Duck, an absolutely fabulous company specialising in the supply of the most delightfully quirky products for the home and personal use. Think knitted cupcakes, pink polka-dot shower caps and vintage candelabras with corsage flowers and you start to get the picture.
Laura and Ben had atually already married in India when these photos were taken, so this was a second celebration of their nuptials, and the couple wanted to continue the Indian theme with a display of bold and beautifully bright colours. Laura used her company to style much of this gorgeous wedding day; from the napkins to the table cloths, place settings, lanterns, candle sticks and tea lights – these were all manufactured by Bombay Duck in India and Laura even used traditional Indian bags to hold the confetti and for the children's goody bags.
"It was certainly the most fantastic day of my life. I loved all the preparation and the day lived up to all my expectations. We were surrounded by kids (I have lots of nieces and nephews) who made the day even more special for us…"
These simply gorgeous photographs were submitted by very talented London and Bristol Wedding Photographer Catherine Mead – who, for anyone who was lucky enough to receive one, photographed the image on the Nimierko Christmas cards this year… {thanks for the card Mark!}

I love these invitation designs, simply beautiful!
I love Laura's Jenny Packham dress, which she says she chose because she loved the delicate embellishment. That's the Jenny Packham Acacia II headpiece there too…
The Bridesmaids and flower girls dresses were all bespoke/hand-made…
Florist Maria Wilcox prepared all the flowers on the day – what gorgeous colour combinations…
The day goes by so fast and you don’t want to miss a thing so take time out when you can to take things in. I thought I would be nervous walking down the aisle (I cry at any wedding!) but when I walked in I was so relaxed – it totally surprised me!"
The children were entertained by "the fantastic" Sharky and George childrens entertainment…
Ben's suit was a Gieves and Hawkes'…
The Tents were hired from the Raj Tent Company…
A Table Plan in the Trees! Genius! 😉 …
Little touches of Inida are peppered throughout this gorgeous day…
Pretty potted plants bursting with colour…
The couple went for a 7 tier 'cheese cake', created 7 cakes muh these days:)
Beautiful Indian style lanterns being lit as the evening draws in…
The couple hired The Hooper Band to entertain their guests in the evening. Laura and Ben liked them so much, they gatecrashed the stage!! 😉
She's not going to…….is she………?
Oh. My. WORD!!!!
Heheheheheeeeeee! 😉
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Don’t worry about every detail. Choose some elements to focus on that are really important to you. For us it was the food, decorations and of course the party!"
Oh my LORD! Have you ever seen anything so beautifully colourful? I love the sense of wild abandon in these images towards the end too! It looks like Laura and Ben sure know how to party, I'd have LOVED to have been a guest at this special day!
Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS Laura and Ben – it might be eighteen months ago now but you both looked like you had an utterly fabulous time back in June 2009 – I LOVE it!! 😉
Huge thanks once again too, to London and Bristol Wedding Photographer Catherine Mead, for allowing reproduction of these fabulous photographs on Love My Dress.
Be sure to visit Bombay Duck for a mooch around their gorgeous products – handily enough, they even have a wedding section! 😉
Much love,
Annabel xXx
