A Maria Grachvogel Wedding Dress for a Greek Goddess in Gold…

Morning!

Just wanted to share a few images this morning from a wedding which really struck my eye for the beautiful dress, quite unlike any other I have seen in a long time.

Asha & Simon tied the knot on Sunday 29th May 2011 with a ceremony at Hampstead Town Hall, London. Asha looked a vision of a Greek Goddess, head to toe in gold in this gorgeous Maria Grachvogel wedding dress. I just love the cut and draping of the fabric, it’s perfect…

“Maria is an old friend of my husband and I thought that there was no harm in checking out her designs. Originally I had thought that I might wear a white dress so I was not imagining that they would be quite right.

Maria had just gotten married in one of her designs and she said that the ‘comfort’ factor was really important to her. It was not until I had tried on a few corseted dresses that I realised what she meant. With Maria’s dress I could just slip it on, no tucking in, no scratchy bodices, none of the awful fidgeting you see brides doing when they are uncomfortable in their dresses. I loved the timeless elegance of the dress and she absolutely cuts them with a woman’s body in mind. I never thought I could look so good!”

I just love those Gold sandals – a purchase from Dune, and the gold headband, a find at Fenwicks

“I bought a gold cuff from Top Shop. We had originally bought a gold cuff from Givenchy at considerably more cost but I saw the one in Top Shop a few weeks before the wedding and changed tack much to my partners horror!”

“My friend is in a 40s trio called The Marjorie Bells, and they did an amazing job of providing some vintage glam in the garden as the sun shone on…”

Congratulations Asha and Simon, and thanks also to Photographer Sara Reeve..

“I was a somewhat reluctant subject so  Sara did a great job in the pre meeting of taking me through her portfolio so we could decide on styles. She also really helped concentrate my mind on the order of the day and also what our parents and family might want as a way of a visual record of the wedding.

At the actual wedding I did not even notice her taking photos, which is probably one of the biggest complements you can give a wedding photographer. She managed to get a perfect mix of atmosphere and people. We were so pleased with the results and would heartily recommend Sara.”

Have a lovely morning folks 🙂

Much love,

Annabel xXx

  1. I adore with her dress. It’s divine and suits her impeccably! Thank your for every last trace of the outfit presents you are doing! I blatantly revel in them. Gonna attempt that someday!
