This lovely wedding is brought to you by photographer Emilie White, who was present at the laid back nuptials of Amanda and Elliot, who tied the knot on 3 September last year at Relais La Magioca, Negrar in Verona in Italy.
Australian born Amanda wore a super-chic dress by Lisa Ho, the Australian bridal wear designer, which I really love, all those pleats are so pretty…
"I didn’t want a traditional white dress but had so much fun trying on all kinds of dreses with my friends {I think I tried on about 15 in total!}. I was so happy when I found my dress – it was just exactly what I’d been looking for.
Being quite fair, the blush colour was perfect and I changed the belt it came with and had an ivory sash made to make the dress look a bit more bridal. I loved the pleating at the front, the flattering shape and the fact that as soon as I tried it on in the shop, it made me feel like a million dollars! Plus, being an Australia, I also loved that it was a little piece of home included in our wedding…"

I'd recognise that Acacia headband by Jenny Packham anywhere 😉
"I would have loved to have peonies, but it wasn’t the right season, we had to chose our flowers from imagery that our florist, Fioreria Gabriella Negrar, provided us with.
I loved that we could have small and large roses and the gorgeous blush, ivory colour that went with my dress so well…"
"The Florist came up with these gorgeous little roses bracelets to match my bouquet, so we tied them around the bridesmaids wrists which the girls loved!"
"I walked down the aisle with my Fathe, to Florence and the Machine's 'The Dog Days Are Over'…"
"We met through my old flatmat when Ellio and I both lived in Italy. Our proposal went something like this; I was in New York on a holiday staying with the above mentioned flatmate at her NYC apartment. On my last weekend there, Elliott made a last minute booking to come to New York to surprise me and ask me to marry him!
The problem was, I had been out the night before and had one too many vodkas, so when he arrived at 2pm the next day, I was not feeling the best and was looking even worse! So his big plans of surprising me at a café did not quite happen as I was still in bed feeling hungover! He came in with a little box and asked me to marry him – inside the box was a beautiful ring {which he called a temporary ring until we chose the real thing}, from one of my favourite fashion stores in New York. It was so lovely and thoughtful, and very spontaneous and romantic of him.."
"We chose Italy as we met 7 years ago in Northern Italy, and we chose the venue as it was just what we had been looking for, a lovely rustic style house in a relaxed environment with a beautiful garden and somewhere the family could all stay as well…"
"We bought our rings at Kellerwood Jewellers in Brighton. At the same time that we got engaged and married, we were living in Brighton, so I tink it’s a really nice thing to have rings from there as a memory of our time in that city.
Elliot’s ring is made by Kellerwood. He really wanted a simple brushed platinum band. My rings are by Ungar and Ungar. I wanted a band with diamonds, not a raised up setting, I loved that this had something a bit unique, being plaited and I love that it sits so nicely with my wedding band and can be added to over the time with other rings…"
"We really didn’t want a very traditional wedding, we just wanted to have a big party ‘wedding weekend’ with family and friends in a beautiful relaxed environment. So we kept this in mind the whole time we were planning…"
"Paolo Anti Catering created our cake. We chose it from an email image and description viewed via email {pavlova, Chantilly cream and raspberries with sponge lower layer – delicious!}. As we were in the UK and she in Italy, it looked much smaller on the emai!! When we saw it at the wedding, we were amazed by the sheer size of it! Plus I love dessert, so we had a whole dessert buffet and a Gelato Man – there was a LOT of dessert! 😉
"We danced to '40 Day Dream', by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros…"
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Do try and personalize your day to suite you both. And one of my friends told me beforehand, ‘expect things to go wrong on the day and you will have a great day’. In other words, don’t expect the day to be perfect, as something will always happen that may surprise you. But in hindsight, these are things that will make you laugh later when you look back!"
Just a lovely, laid back, relaxing affair – no fuss, just elegant, fun photographs and reminder of a beautiful day.
Big thanks to Emilie White for sending in these lovely images…
"Emilie was fantastic, we love her style of photography and couldn’t be happier with the results. She was so discreet as well on the day and just helped you feel relaxed and natural…"
