White Tights and Peach Pretty ~ A 1960s Inspired Private Members Club Wedding…

Hello my lovelies! 🙂 Got a super chic, fun and stylish wedding to share with you this morning.  Damon & Lynda’s wedding, which wedding took place on 11th February at 29 Private Members Club, in Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow, makes a beautiful nod towards 1960s style. I just adore Lynda’s dress {an original vintage number}. In fact, I just adore everything about this wedding, the cute pink bridesmaid number, the peach tones, the photography, those shoes, and those tights!

Lynda wore a gorgeous original vintage 1960’s wedding dress, by Dragonfly Dress Design – an original vintage find that she had shortened in length. By the way, these wonderful photographs come to you courtesy of Christopher and Gillian, of Christopher Currie Photography – a duo of immensely talented Scottish photographers. Look them up Scottish brides! That’s my order of today!

Bride Lynda told me about her dress…

“I really liked the simplicity, clean lines and A-line shape of the dress.  The peach underlay which sat under the lace exterior also appealed to me.

As it was a vintage dress and actually full length when I first tried it on, some adjustments were required! However, Lisa at Dragonfly was great at talking me through the alterations and did a fantastic job…”

Florist Sparrow and Rose provided Lynda and Damon’s gorgoeus peach bouquet {I am so loving peach right now, right up there with my other two favourite colours; eau de nil and pale blue…

“I took inspiration from the peach underlay of my dress, and opted for peach roses for the men’s buttonholes.  This was carried through into both bouquets.  With Damon being an Aussie we also stuck a bit of Australian shrubbery in the form of eucalyptus in the buttonholes, to remind him of home…”

Lynda’s bridesmaid wore an Icy pink 1960s dress with a diamante collar from Saratoga Trunk in Glasgow.  She also wore a diamante clip from Accessorize and silver 1960s handbag from Watermelon, Glasgow

“We didn’t stick to a rigid theme or colour, but we both like vintage things and we tried to loosely incorporate a bit of this as we went along.  Our other consideration was to include some Australian aspects to the day.  We named our tables after various (and often watched!) Australian film and television programmes…”

“When I first visited the venue I was bowled over by its interior, and especially the look and feel of the Supper Club, where much of the day was taking place.  The fact that the venue had a late licence, central location and a reputation for tasty food were factors too.  However, I think it was the passion and professionalism of 29 Private Members Club’s wedding coordinator, David Smith, which swung it for us…”

  1. Gorgeous picture outside under the lights. The flowers are completely lovely too. The photography really draws you into the day. Magical….

  2. lovely pictures and very inspiring! I’m getting my dress from Dragonfly Dress Design and Sparrow and Rose and probably doing the flowers – this is a rather fine testimonial for both of them! All so beautiful – especially the dress! Congratulations to both of them.

  3. What a gorgeous wedding, she looks amazing in her tights and dress, I can’t imagine anything else suiting her better!

  4. Love it.
2 days in a row with work from North of the Border.
And more from The Glasgow Wedding Collective folks.
This wedding is gorgeous. Well done Gillian & Chris and all the other fab suppliers. The Bride & Groom look beautiful too. xx

  5. Wow! Just catching up over my morning coffee and I have to say, this is one of my favourite weddings I’ve seen on Love My Dress (and I’ve been reading a long old while!). I just love seeing brides who have gone with their own sense of style and personality and rock it completely. So incredibly inspiring! Hx p.s. Have total fringe envy 🙂

  6. I adore this wedding, it is one of my favourites to feature on here! I am in LOVE with the cape – I have been looking everywhere for one like it, I know it’s cheeky but Lynda if you see this comment and you would consider selling the cape, I would adore it and it would make the perfect final bit of my winter wedding outfit Jess xxx
