We’re taking a Christmas break!

Happy Holidays everyone!
Over the next week, and as I do every Christmas here at Love My Dress, Franky and I will be taking a little holiday, so that we can relax and enjoy the Christmas festivities and this special time with our families, friends and loved ones. This means there will be no blog posts this week, though we'll be back again on New Years Eve, and again on New Years Day, with a post packed full of special offers for our readers.

For those of you new to this blog and visiting for the very first time, welcome! We're so delighted you are here and we look forward to inspiring and reassuring you on your exciting wedding planning adventure.  I'm so proud that Love My Dress is now housing over 3 years of award winning wedding blog content; perhaps you could start exploring it by browsing through our real wedding features, though you'll probably also want to take a peek at some gorgeous wedding dresses, or our beauty, DIY or wedding films (like you've never seen before). You might also want to read about my upcoming book! And that's just for starters.  Use the drop down menus to the top right of this page to discover much, much more.

For our extremely loyal and adored community of existing readers, newlyweds and industry suppliers, I would just like to wish you all an absolutely wonderful Christmas.  I hope you are also getting an opportunity to down-tools this Christmas, and enjoy some time for you – you deserve it!

How will you be spending Christmas? What are your plans?

I'll be spending the festive period with my husband Phil and our little girls Eska Eleanor (7) and Leanora Rose (2). Having literally just moved house this past Friday, this will be our first family Christmas in our beautiful new home just outside of Whitby (spot the reference in the image above there?) – where our two pooches Tarka and Izzie will be keeping everyone's feet warm ;)  We are so happy to be settled in our new place, with its beautiful views across the North Yorkshire Moors and the elegant River Esk (that inspired our daughters name) that flows towards the sea at the bottom of our hill.

The champagne is chilling in the fridge and a mince pie and glass of sherry have been set aside for Father Christmas's fleeting visit tomorrow evening.  As I sit here typing this message, I feel butterflies in my tummy as I recall how exciting Christmas was to me as a child – how I could barely contain myself with it all on Christmas Eve, how I loved how my Dad used to read 'The Night Before Christmas' to us, before Mum tucked us up in bed and my Sister and I wondered if we'd get a glimpse of the real Father Christmas that night.  I'll be reading the same story to my two little girls this evening before tucking them up in to their own beds.

I'll be active on social media over the next few days, so if you're not doing so already, you can follow Love My Dress on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest and of course, Instagram (recognise that chair, telephone and those two pooches above there?)

I'd really love to hear what you're doing this Christmas time.  Whatever you do, I hope you have a lovely, relaxing break spent with those you love.

Sending you a tonne of Christmas love and best wishes – we'll be back before you know it 😉
