Succulents, Moss and a Touch of Gold Leaf ~ Creative and Alternative Ideas to Wedding Day Flowers…

Never one to be pigeon-holed into something that won't allow us the flexibility to explore new ideas, I'm featuring something a little different this afternoon, for the more creative brides amongst our readership. I'm also rather selfishly feeding my personal obsession with succulents in sharing these images (my new home office is full of them!).

This styled photoshoot, designed and curated by Sonia Collett of Want That Wedding and Laura Babb, who also shot these images, makes creative suggestions for couples looking for an alternative to wedding flowers.  I just adore how Florist Jay Archer has worked with succulents and moss to come up with what are actually some very accessible and rather beautiful ideas for brides who are seeking an alternative to the typical wedding day bloom…

"There are a whole host of
beautifully sculptural plants that can provide an interesting and often
more cost effective backdrop for your wedding or civil partnership.

The team behind this shoot included Sonia from Want That Wedding, Jay Archer Floral Design and Laura of Babb Photo
They wanted to put together a setting that merged the lines between the
natural and the man made.  This shows that plants can form an
interesting backdrop for those who want something a bit different…"

"The shoot took place at the beautiful Bignor Park
and focusses on the use of rare succulents, plant materials, moss and,
for a touch of luxury, gold leaf.  As well as showcasing this unique
wedding styling the team also wanted to show that there is an option for
couples who do not want to get married in a traditional environment.
