Morning! Had a good weekend? I do hope so. This morning's wedding should put a lovely smile on your face regardless. Jac and Jon tied the knot on Friday 19th April 2013 at The Assembly Rooms in Bath, Somerset, followed by a reception at Priston Mill, also in Somerset. I love this wedding for it's quirky, fun nature and that beautiful original vintage wedding dress…
"I wore an original vintage wedding dress that I purchased from the Miss Vintage Wedding Affair in February 2012. I knew that I wanted a 1950's
dress and Jon in a tweed suit. The rest really followed from there. We
wanted it to look quite hand made and a bit quirky, and most of all to
represent us as a couple. Our house is a mish-mash of stuff that we’ve
collected over the years, and I suppose we wanted our wedding to be a
bit of a mish mash too!
My veil was from Gibson Bespoke on Etsy, but I swapped the embellishment for a brooch from my Grandmother. I wanted a polka dot veil to match my bridesmaids."

"I tried the dress on originally because there was someone in the communal dressing
room with a dress I really liked the look of, and wanted to get my hands
on next. I ended up preferring the second choice, and bought it there
and then, long before any other part of the wedding had been planned!
I
love the v-back and the long sleeves with button detailing. I knew I
wanted an A-line midi dress, so it was perfect, really! I got it
slightly altered and a petticoat made at Chambers Bespoke Tailors."
"Jon is my brother's best friend (my brother was one of the Best
Men). We were a bit awkward and embarrassed in front of each other for
quite some time before finally going on a date!
To propose, Jon took me on a surprise weekend to Bath,
with every minute planned out. He proposed in Prior Park, a stunning
Landscape Garden. This is what made us go back to Bath for the wedding,
and we even got some pics taken in Prior Park on the day. We were
engaged for about a year and a half."
"My dad gave me away, we walked down the aisle to the sound of The Vitimin String Quartet cover of 'Where Is My Mind ' by the Pixies.
We were desperate to find readings that weren't too cheesy, and
it took ages to get it right. The second reading wasn't written to be
read aloud, but we were lucky in that the people we chose to read them
delivered them perfectly! Our readings were 'The Singing Plank by Max
Kuvaev (Jon's nickname is Plank)' and 'My Baby Just Cares For Me by Nina
Simone – just because its a beautiful song, and by one of our favourite
artists.
Both of our rings are vintage and from our families. Mine was my
late grandmothers, who got married on the same day 61 years ago."
"We're massive fans of the Hackney Colliery Band, but couldn't stretch to hiring them sadly. Instead, we hired their five piece option, the Gold Diggers Brass Band and another band, the St Louis Strollers."
"I chose white anemones for the bridesmaids to go with their
dresses, and just because I loved the contrast of the black and white. I
added in some succulents, thistles and miss piggy roses for colour in
my bouquet. I got the flowers from my local florist."
"One cake was made by Jon's step mum, and we also got a cheese cake
from Fine Cheese in Bath who were really helpful with
choosing the cheeses. We even got 'Wyfe of Bath' in there."
"Our photographer was Jake Morley
– who was amazing. We asked if he'd run a Photo Booth as an extra
service, and he sourced all of the hats, accessories and backdrop
without us having to do anything. He worked a really long day and got so
many amazing shots. We've had loads of comments on how great they are,
and we couldn't be happier with them."
Huge thanks to photographer Jake Morley for sharing these gorgeous photographs.
With much love,
Annabel
