'For me photographing weddings is a chance to capture a little slice of magic; it's a real honour to be asked, nay paid, to be there on the most important day of most people's lives. Getting swept up in love stories and meeting gorgeous couples is a bonus! I just love being able to tell their story and hopefully create heirlooms that will last a lifetime.'
'I love telling the story of a wedding day from my own artistic point of view, seeing it, feeling it, being part of it. Photographically I love golden hour, window light, dark rooms, unconventional brides and grooms and oodles of love.'
'l got into wedding photography, in a roundabout way, through my own wedding in 2009. It opened my eyes to some of the truly beautiful images that were being created, particularly in the US, and how gorgeous photographing weddings could be.'
'I love fashion photography; I suppose it stems from my former career and how it allows you to escape into a world of fantasy. I love to travel and see things through different eyes, and I love cinematography too – beautiful cinematography is the ultimate escapism and I think all of these things influence my work.
'The kind of couples that best suit my work are creative, open minded, fun loving and happy to experiment. They hate anything stuffy or formal. I'm terrible at describing my work in a way that doesn't sound cliched, but it falls somewhere between those buzzwords of 'photojournalistic' and 'fine art', blending the two to create authentic stories and gorgeous images.'
Ellie lives in South East London but covers the whole of the UK, travelling the length and breadth of the country as well as heading to gorgeous destination weddings abroad. For 2014, six hours coverage starts at £1300.
'I often get asked at weddings how I know the couple, and I take that as the hugest compliment. That guests think I’m a friend with a big camera means I fit in, which is exactly where I want to be.'
