There's one wedding dress designer whose name keeps on popping up on Love My Dress – brides love her gowns in their droves, such is their romantic, feminine and quintessentially elegant English bride appeal. The lady I'm talking about, of course, is the one and only Charlotte Balbier.
I happen to really, really like Charlotte for all sorts of reasons. Firstly she's a brilliant business woman, something I much admire, but she's also a really lovely person, totally down to earth and more importantly, completely connected with her brand and her brides. You really get a sense that she cares very much about every individual bride who chooses to wear one of her divine dresses.
Charlotte happens to be getting married very soon – you can only imagine what a world of weddings hers is right now. It is fitting then that she should take some quiet time out in the run up to her nuptials to pause, reflect, and appreciate all the amazing things happening around her right now.

We all love a little look into the lives of others, it's a natural human instinct and curiosity that keeps thousands of you drawn to visiting and revisiting this blog day upon day. Questions such as, what did she wear, how did she style her hair, which bridesmaids dresses did she get, did they personalise their vows. We are inspired by the choices of others, the things they do, what they look like in real life.
Which leads me on to these stunning images of Charlotte Balbier and her fiance Teddy (who I've met and who, I can confirm, is completely charming). We don't feature too many engagement shoots on Love My Dress, but these ones are rather special. I know just how hard Charlotte works, she's so passionate about her business and her brides – I simply can't imagine trying to also plan a wedding on top of it all. It's so lovely to see Charlotte relaxing in the sun on the beautiful Balearic Isle of Ibiza with her husband to be.
Of course it's only fitting that this designer of romantic, feminine wedding dresses has a photographer known for her dreamy, romantic and beautifully luminous film photography – Polly Alexandre. Polly is one of my favourite photographers in the world, frankly (she took the PR shots on the Love My Dress 'About' page). I'm a huge huge film and fine art photography fan.
'When Polly suggested we could have a pre-wedding shoot in Ibiza, Teddy and I did not need much persuading and pretty smartish booked some flights out to this beautiful island. With Polly’s recommendation, we booked into the magical Giri Residence that is the Islands most loved Boutique hotel. This stylish and intimate hotel of just 5 amazingingly beautiful suites, gorgeous décor and surroundings is like stepping into your own little bit of heaven.
As well as a pre-wedding shoot we turned it into a pre-wedding 'mini-moon', and we enjoyed seven glorious days in Ibiza.'
'The shoot was a great way of us getting to know Polly better and likewise Polly getting to know both Teddy and I. As Polly lives on the Island she knows all the best places to shoot and we shot in two stunning locations. We had an amazing time and are delighted with the images – Polly really does capture you at your very best and the light is glorious, dreamy and romantic. Roll on the wedding day!'
