Introducing Clare Lloyd Bridal Accessories + Win Your Accessories Worth £275

And happy 14th February to you! Whatever you’re doing today, I hope you’re feeling the love. To make you day a little brighter, I’ve got something here that I just know you’re going to adore.

It’s my huge pleasure to introduce you to the wonderful Clare Lloyd, designer and maker of gorgeous bridal accessories and jewellery. But, not only that, I’m also giving you the chance to win your choice of Clare’s designs, a prize that’s worth £275! So, read on dear reader, read on…

Clare Lloyd has been making wedding jewellery and accessories since 2013 after she made vintage inspired pieces for her sister’s wedding. Things spiralled from then on and soon, Clare’s original business, Vintage Button Bridal Designs, was flourishing. However late last year, the business was rebranded and Clare Lloyd Bridal Accessories was born.

“I made pieces for my sister and got completely and utterly hooked on this wonderful world of weddings. Other people started to ask me to make their wedding headpieces and jewellery and things took off from there. I now work from my little studio in a restored silk mill in the Somerset town of Frome, not far from Bath.”

Clare’s rural backdrop certainly inspires her work and you’ll see lots of pieces that have been influenced by nature. Flowers, leaves and foliage all feature and I love her intricate style – there’s plenty of detail and each piece has a very organic feel, all brought to life with delicate beading, wire work and embroidery.

“I’m also very much inspired by antique jewellery and couture fashion from times past. I love the Art Deco period with all the beautiful headdresses and the incredible beadwork on dresses. I’m fascinated with how things are made and it’s important to me that old fashioned couture skills and creating and working with your hands continues to survive in an age of mass production, there just has to be an alternative.”

And Clare’s work is certainly the best alternative. She describes herself as a ‘hopeless romantic’ and there’s always a story tied to each of her designs. Her pieces reflect a timeless vintage glamour and the delight of couture but there’s also a modern, contemporary edge that’s just glorious.

Clare’s new collection, ‘Lumiere’ is, as you might expect from the name, a selection of designs that are all very lightweight, extra comfortable to wear and versatile. Some of the designs are even reversible so you can choose between two colours.

Inspired by Japanese botanical art and ancient Greek laurel wreaths, Clare’s created a collection of intricate, luxurious floral headpieces, hair adornments and jewellery. With delicate hand painted leaves, the softest pure silk ribbons, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and diamante stones, each design can be worn in numerous ways and can even be combined to create a simple or statement look that becomes unique to the wearer.

“My designs are a little bit different to a lot of the work out there – I don’t necessarily follow trends or fashions but instead try to create timeless and beautiful little works of art that will become much loved future heirlooms and part of a bride’s story.”
