Ahead of remembrance day tomorrow, I have such a tastefully elegant and sensitively curated set of images to share with you which pays tender remembrance to our brave war heroes and veterans.
Not only is this very special photo shoot in honour of our war hero’s, it is also in loving memory of loved ones no longer with us. The dress used in this shoot was a beautiful Jenny Packham gown called ‘Desire’ – supplied by the wonderful and generous The Pantiles Bride boutique. Amy of Rubie Love Photography captured these beautiful images and Bradbourne House in Kent played the stunning backdrop. Cassandra of Cassandra June Weddings, who sent in these images and asked if we would consider sharing them in celebration of the centenary this year. It is our absolute pleasure to do so.
Cassandra tells us more below…
“It will be the centenary of the end of the great war in November so in celebration of this, and in remembrance, the shoot is a luxurious celebration of those that made it home and tender remembrance of those who didn’t. It’s a poignant shoot with details around how you might want to remember a lost loved one on your wedding day.”

“The Great War is still one of the most significant conflicts in the 20th Century and its impact is still being felt today. Over 16million people died in the war – made of civilians and military and over 37 million were casualties. These number are so hard to comprehend.”
“In our everyday lives we experience the loss of a loved one and for many, not having those special people around on their big day can be incredibly emotive. It’s an emotional day for many reasons, so it is lovely to be able to include them, even in spirit.”
“The shoot is a representation of light and dark, the deep colours in the mahogany room off set against the berry velvet cloth, the gold china and cutlery and the vintage cut glass – supplied by the lovely Natasha at A Touch of Vintage. The low laid florals enhance the understated luxury.”

“I can just imagine a melancholy tune being played at the grand piano as our hero reflects on the losses he has felt, but the joy of his grand-daughter getting ready for her big moment. The beautiful invitations featuring the poppy emblem were supplied by the lovely Vaishali of Ananya Cards.”
“Natalie’s make up and hair look was created by the ethical makeup artist Carrie Starbuck. She went for a relaxed hair style to make the most of the stunning detail of the dress, and a strong lip to offset Natalie’s dark hair and eyes.”
“As they take a stroll outside, reminiscing about the past and speaking of loved ones no longer here, they are so grateful for the time they have. The stunning bouquet was created by Tasha of Fleur du Monceux and the hand died silk ribbon was made by Cassandra June Weddings.”
“The blue room hosts a joyful reception, with the damask tablecloths highlighting the sumptuous velvet runner, the gorgeously glossy taper candles are from Ester & Erik. The spectacular flowers are really showcased against the beautiful back drop full of history. There is still an air of poignance with the candle ready to be lit in memory of her great grandparents.”
“The stunning cake with the hand painted detail and the delicate sugar craft poppy really is a work of art and brings the theme together, sitting on a silver vintage cake stand (Venues) and was created by the super talented Tasha of Cakefleur.”
“We have featured a real-life hero as the ‘Grandpa’ figure in our ‘story’ he is a true gentleman who was delighted to be a part of this as much as we were privileged for his company.”
“Many thanks for the assistance and support of the Royal British Legion.”
