The vision for this shoot was clearly rooted in combining the beautiful boho trend we’ve seen blossoming in the wedding industry over the past few years but putting a new spin on it using an industrial setting. The beautiful city of Sheffield played a large part in the creation of this shoot as it has some stunning warehouse venues that work beautifully as a blank canvas for your chosen wedding theme.

After viewing 92 Burton Road, a mixture of white walls, red brick and industrial girders and beams we knew this would be the perfect location for our shoot. In particular our stylist Jen at My Pretties UK wanted to use earthy jewel tones in the styling and floristry which would stand out so well again the blank wall back drops.

We also knew that we wanted to secure a team of talented local suppliers who could deliver to our vision fill our blank space with beautiful work.

As a start, we chose a stunning lace dress with a cape from Rolling in Roses, it looked like it was made for our model. Jenn Edwards & Co created flawless but bold hair and makeup for the bride and the groom was kitted out in relaxed and modern groom attire.

In terms of the styling of the shoot and really wanted to create a ‘less is more’ design focusing on key elements like the rich colours, industrial lighting and big, unusual florals. The venue itself was a massive source of inspiration for the overall design.

We were so happy to have stationery supplied by Wonderland Invites whose work harmonised with the overall colours and tones of the shoot. Boho elements were brought in to soften the look of the shoot, though the gorgeous cake, earrings and bouquet wrap.

For the shoot itself we wanted to showcase the details and give inspiration to couples who want an urban wedding that you can also combine industrial, boho and botanical elements.

Finally, as part of the shoot we wanted to show off the the city itself as well as the venue. For so many urban weddings the city is an extended part of the wedding itself. Wedding photographers know how important the setting is to their couples and using industrial architecture and graffiti can be an amazing backdrop for striking wedding photos.
