Lindsey and Ryan tied the knot on August 15, 2022, at Pleasant Union Farm in Canton, Georgia, USA. Despite it being August, the couple found themselves captivated by the enchanting colours of Autumn that surrounded them, and filled their day with the most beautiful flowers and foliage in seasonal hues.

With the help of Winey Blonde Events, their special day was flawlessly organised, and fully embraced the magical natural scenery of the venue and location. Lindsey wore a gorgeous gown by Truvellle, which featured pretty, fluted tulle sleeves, and her maids looked incredible in bridesmaids dresses in shades of cinnamon and burnt orange.

The official photographer was Hellen CO Photos, who did the most beautiful job of capturing all the warmth, love and romance shared on this beautiful day. Enjoy!

The Dress

My Truvellle ‘Lillie’ gown was purchased at The Sentimentalist in Atlanta, Georgia. I had THE BEST experience at this shop. From the general aesthetic and decor, to the unique and size inclusive samples on display, and the dedication and intentionality of the staff- this place is amazing!

I would recommend The Sentimentalist to any bride, but especially those looking for a unique or vintage-inspired gown.

I wanted something unique and vintage-inspired. I was looking for something that just felt like me. I’m a very picky shopper, but I typically can’t put my finger on what I want until I see it. I had been to a few dress shops in Charlotte and Atlanta, and just wasn’t satisfied.

I found The Sentimentalist on instagram and immediately knew they had what I was looking for- and they sure did! I wanted a gown with a lot of movement and that would be comfortable, ethereal, and unique. The gown I found had all this and just made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself.

“I purchased my veil from The Sentimentalist, the same day I picked out my dress, it is the Georgina Veil by Jaclyn Jordan.”

A First Look

We exchanged private vows during our first look, it was a special moment just the two of us that we will cherish forever.

Our officiant wrote our vows and I was so caught up in the moment I don’t recall exactly what was said.

The Ceremony

We fell in love with our venue. The beautiful setting was a big inspiration for us.

My father accompanied me down the aisle to ‘Sliding Down’ by Edgar Meyer, one of mine and my husband’s favourite instrumental songs.

Our ceremony officiant was Pastor David Gilleland.

How They Met

We met summer of 2018 when I half-heartedly made an online dating profile because my roommate at the time didn’t want to try online dating alone. Ryan was the first and only person I messaged from the app, and the rest is history.

We got engaged summer of 2021 at our favourite winery on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, surrounded by our favourite view.

We found Ryan’s stunning blue suit at Men’s Warehouse — he knew he wanted to wear blue.

“Our favourite wedding day details would have to be our handmade signs. Ryan built a few signs using cherry wood finished with tung oil and we engraved them with my handwriting.”

Reception

Detail & Decor

I designed our stationery on The Knot website, it was very user friendly and cost effective.

Our caterers were 61 Main. We chose a variety of desserts by The Late Night Baker, rather than a single cake.

This included an assortment of shortbread, cookies, pre-sliced and individually decorated cake squares, and seasonal fruit crumble bars. I wanted dessert to be something our guests could enjoy while they danced and enjoyed the reception.

Evening & Favourite Moments

We took our first dance to ‘Amsterdam’, by Gregory Alan Isokof, the first song we ever danced to together.

Our favourite wedding day details would have to be our handmade signs. Ryan built a few signs using cherry wood finished with tung oil and we engraved them with my handwriting.

We also selected some of our favourite songs to play during the pre-ceremony and procession instead of traditional wedding music so that every detail reflected our style as a couple.

Our first look was such a special moment, topped only by the ugly crying that ensued from Ryan as I walked down the aisle!

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Choose a venue that is all-inclusive and stay true to who you are as a couple.

Your day should be a reflection of you, not necessarily what’s currently trendy. Wedding planning doesn’t have to be stressful- this is an exciting time and the planning process should be just as fun as the day-of.

We couldn’t be more thankful for our venue and all of our wonderful vendors for making our dreams come true! We had a fantastically stress-free day and were able to just enjoy each other and our families all day!

Also, I wish I’d have tried all of our desserts! I was too busy having a fantastic time!
