Let’s dive in to this breathtaking collection in bridal design…

Anna, please introduce yourself to our audience
I am Anna Vesty, the Founder and Creative Director of UNBRIDLED STUDIO, a contemporary bridal brand that launched in 2023. Prior to launching the brand I designed ready-to-wear and bridal for a number of luxury British brands.

I spent a decade designing for an iconic London brand which is where I met Ruth, our Commercial Director. I was heading up the design team, Ruth was head of buying and merchandising and we just clicked. Layering on to that, we both got engaged at the same time and ended up planning our weddings alongside each other. Ruth actually walked down the aisle in one of my designs.
All of these factors paved the way to where we are at today. Designing bridal and evening wear was always my favourite part of my role, it allowed so much scope for creativity without being at the mercy of the seasonal fashion calendar.
Launching my own brand was somewhat of an unfulfilled dream and the suddenly, the timing was right.

What inspired you to establish Unbridled Studio? What was your original vision and how has this evolved?
Prior to launching the brand I was very much a collection designer so I think that has always been in minds eye whilst designing.
As well as beautifully standalone gowns, there are so many pieces that have to work and style together in a wider collection sense.

My background is luxury ready to wear and in my previous roles when we were prepping for a shoot or London fashion week we would spend days styling and working through the pieces and finding the chicest combinations whilst putting new twists on things – so I have definitely embedded that into UNBRIDLED STUDIO’S DNA.

Each piece in the collection is incredibly considered and versatile. I also think having very edited launch collection forced me to pressure-test every piece to make sure each style had a point of view and could work together to create a lot of different looks while still feeling effortless.
No piece in the collection stands alone; there are many incarnations and styling possibilities and our brides love that, it means that our appointments are a very dynamic and creative experience. The evolution doesn’t stop when the pieces are hanging in our showroom, it continues with our brides and becomes a very design orientated experience. It’s about a lot more than a singular lovely dress.
Collection III is breathtaking! Can you share the inspiration and what makes it so unique?
Collection III layers effortlessly into the current collection to evolve and elevate. It is incredibly important that this collection works seamlessly into our existing offer to add new silhouettes and styling opportunities and that there isn’t an ‘old’ and ‘new’.
Collection III has a real focus on textural mixes, with crafted jacquards and modern lace mixing back with our clean and contemporary satins.

Silhouettes are modern and sculptural and we have stayed true to the brands ethos, ensuring the collection is underpinned by the importance of sublime fabrication and impeccable cuts. There is also a continued emphasis on the innovative styling possibilities of each piece.
I am always inspired by the past and the timelessness of vintage style but there is no tenuous and abstract inspiration for this particular collection, we just wanted to make beautiful pieces that brides want to wear. I had a lot of fun designing this collection.

Could you talk us through some of your favourite pieces from Collection III?
I adore the THORA gown. The silhouette is so modern but still feels incredibly soft and feminine and works with the curves of the female body.
We have also introduced some exquisitely cut column silhouettes which are perfect for our city brides and have the option of adding some extra drama with our peplums or trains.

Where can brides try on your gorgeous designs?
The full collection is available by appointment at our Liverpool Studio.
We also have a number of UK Stockists who hold a beautiful curated edit of pieces. Our stockists will be holding trunk shows of the new collection in the coming months.

How does Unbridled Studio approach their values around sustainability and craftsmanship?
We have made-to-order production and avoid large runs and stock holding, made-to-order bridalwear is naturally a more sustainable production model.
With all of our fabrics, we do small production runs, reordering based on the orders and requirements to avoid over production and excessive stock.
The lions share of our production is also based with our two UK ateliers with our beading being produced with artisans in India who I have a longstanding relationship with. Our focus on craftsmanship means that we only trust highly skilled seamstresses and artisans to make our pieces.

A key part of our brand ethos is styling and multifunction, many of the pieces in the collection can slide effortlessly into your wardrobe after your big day.
We have also just launched out ‘restyle + rewear’ program allowing our brides to come back into the studio after their big day for a design consultation and have their gown reworked for a new end use/event. It feels right that the most important outfit of your life gets a new lease of life.

What advice would you give to brides searching for their dream wedding dress?
Whilst it’s important to have an understanding of your own style and body, it is so important to keep an open mind. Finding your dress is a process of exploration.

What’s one thing about bridal fashion that you wish more brides knew?
The skill and craftsmanship that goes on behind the scenes. So much care and consideration goes into each piece. Particularly as small brand, it is such an intimate and personal process.
