When it comes to wedding flowers that tell a story, few do it with more heart, care and creativity than Nia Bradley-Hobbs of Luvshifting Flowers. Based in Southsea, Hampshire, Nia creates beautifully expressive floral designs rooted in sustainability and guided by a deep love for nature and people. Her style is vibrant, textured and full of feeling – often blending wild, romantic blooms with seasonal colour and movement.
With years of experience in floristry, a background in horticulture and a passion that began in childhood, Nia has shaped a floral design studio that prioritises the environment, celebrates individuality and invites genuine connection. She creates ‘joyous, wild and exciting florals whilst always being earth-friendly’. Whether working with foraged foliage, locally grown stems or potted plants that can live on long after the day, every arrangement is created with care, intention and joy.
In this interview, Nia shares the story behind her beloved floristry business, her approach to sustainable floral design, and the thoughtful, memorable ways she helps couples shape their wedding day with flowers that reflect not only their style, but also their values.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and what led you to start Luvshifting Flowers?
I work from the home I share with my husband Tim, our daughter, my mum, my brother, and our little dog, Teddy. As a child, I loved being outdoors, making daisy chains and rose petal perfume. When I was 15, my mum spotted a sign in a florist’s window. Little did I know that moment would spark my career and eventually lead to LuvShifting Flowers.
LuvShifting began when I was a stay-at-home mum. Before that, I worked as a florist in London and Bath. After studying horticulture, I started advising flower growers on the best varieties to cultivate. I have a deep love and appreciation for my industry, and that passion shines through in my work. I’d describe myself as flower-obsessed, everywhere I look, I notice plants and blooms. I’m fun, enthusiastic, and love sharing my skills while watching others discover the joy of flowers.
Flowers play such a transformative role in a wedding. How do you help couples, especially those who haven’t thought much about florals before, understand their impact?
Floral decor completely transforms a venue’s look and vibe, creating the perfect backdrop that reflects a couple’s taste and personality.
Flowers make a statement that leaves a lasting impression, beautifully captured in photos and videos. They don’t just enhance a space, they create unforgettable memories.

What inspires your floral arrangements? Are there particular colours, textures or seasons that influence your style?
Nature is my biggest influence – I love to replicate how flowers and plants appear in their natural settings. At the same time, I enjoy adding unexpected elements that contrast with the natural look, making the organic beauty stand out even more.
I love creating harmony and surprise all at once!
Sustainability is at the heart of your floral design. How do you incorporate eco-friendly practices into your work, and why is this so import
I source products locally whenever they’re in season and carefully manage how I recycle, reuse, and process waste. I also use conscientious growers who ship their stems and provide whole communities with work, health care and schooling.
I design with longevity in mind, creating elements that can be kept or repurposed. I also collaborate with local gardeners who bring me branches for larger designs, then they go for composting. It’s about crafting beauty while respecting the environment.
For couples looking to make their wedding florals more sustainable, what advice would you give them?
I love using plants that can be replanted and grown on. These can be gifted to guests or added to gardens, allowing the flowers to continue blooming long after the event.
I also recommend collecting glass jars and bottles for table centres – they can be gifted, reused, or recycled. Thoughtful choices like these make a big difference.

Open communication is key. I take the time to truly understand each couple’s vision, including any nods to tradition, trends, or personal style. Building a strong relationship is essential, and I’m proud to say that I stay in touch with most of my past clients. For me, it’s never just been about flowers, but about creating meaningful experiences.

I offer a unique experience where couples, along with their friends and family, can participate in creating every floral element. We organise a session a few days before the wedding where they get hands-on, and then I take care of everything until the big day. It’s a fun, memorable way for them to be more invested in the designs and to feel truly connected to every floral detail.
