I’m Mamad, a wedding photographer based between Derby and Nottingham, and I photograph every wedding myself. I’ve been a professional photographer since 1992. I started out in fashion and music portraits in London, then moved to Nottingham in 2006 and began photographing weddings. Around 200 weddings later, I’m still at it.
My style is documentary. I work quietly in the background, I don’t stage or force anything, and I’d rather you forgot I was there. I’m an introvert, so being the centre of attention was never the plan. You’ll still get portraits of the two of you, but they’re short and relaxed, usually a walk somewhere with good light rather than an hour of posing.
If you’d like video too, I offer Hybrid Photo + Video. I film short clips on the same camera alongside the photos and edit them into a film of around 3 minutes, set to music. It’s not a replacement for a full video team, and there’s no recorded audio, so your vows and speeches won’t be in it. For a lot of couples it’s enough, and it’s one less supplier to organise.

We feel awkward in front of the camera. Will this be a problem?
Not at all! Almost all my couples tell me they are camera shy and feel awkward in front of the camera, which is totally normal. My approach involves getting you guys to feel relaxed with me first, and then in front of my camera. The engagement shoot is a huge help, and I highly recommend that you add one to your wedding package.
How long do we have to wait to get our full gallery of images?
You will get a few preview images in your online gallery a couple of days after your wedding. However, it will take roughly 2 to 3 weeks to receive your final wedding photos. I put a lot of love and care into perfecting each image, which is why it takes me a little bit more time to deliver your final images. If you’d like your photos sooner, please ask me about the rush service.
How many pictures will we get?
From a typical wedding day (full day coverage) you will get about 500-700 images. Elopements and shorter coverage times could be less. I don’t limit the number of images I deliver. If I think it’s a good image, I will let you have it!
Do you provide wedding albums?
Oh yes, and they are beautiful! You can opt for a package that includes an album OR you can purchase one from your print store after your images have been delivered. These Fine Art Wedding Albums are hand-bound in England and are of an exquisite quality. After your wedding photos are delivered you will receive an album brochure detailing colours and customisation options as well as a “how to guide” to make the process as simple as possible.
Do you photograph same-sex weddings?
Of course I do! You only have to look through my Instagram page to see how many same-sex weddings I’ve covered over the years. I photograph love in all it’s forms, and totally support LGBTQIA+ choices. Love is love and I’m 100% here for it.
