The Dougarie Boathouse is a beautiful and exclusive hire Isle of Arran wedding venue, located off West Coast of Scotland. Located within a recently renovated, iconic listed building, The Boathouse provides couples with a completely unique experience right by the sea with scenic backdrops and spectacular views towards the Mull of Kintyre. Whilst the Boathouse on it’s own can accommodate a wedding of around up to 60-80, marquees can also be hired to extend your party size to 200.Isle of Arran Wedding Venue
Exclusive hire of the Dougarie Boathouse can include accommodation split across Dougarie Estate properties including the luxury House of Machrie and The Towers which in particular would enable the most wonderful picturesque walk down to the Boathouse. Overall you can sleep 35 people across 5 houses if required. There are a number of pretty churches located on the island that can be used to host your ceremony too.Key Info

Quite simply outstanding If you are looking for a venue with a difference this is it. The team at the Boathouse were incredible from start to finish and went over and above at every turn, even when one of our suppliers were struggling to provide their service the Boathouse team worked through the night to make sure we could have a wedding day of wedding days. I cannot recommend the Boathouse enough and to top it off the Arran micro climate weather completed our day. They provide a fantastic package service which really does include everything and made even better by keeping it local and supporting islanders within this. I simply cannot thank the team enough. Our experience of the boathouse was excellent from start to finish. We picked the boathouse as I grew up on the island and we wanted to marry in somewhere close to both our hearts, I had always admired the boathouse building from a young age and with both mine and my husbands love of the sea it’s was the ideal choice when it started it’s renovation to a wedding venue! We were very lucky to be one of the first weddings in the venue and the process from booking to planning was straight forward and thoroughly supported by the great team at Dougarie. We first visited the venue back in March 2021 when work was still underway but we never had any doubts as to how beautiful it would be when finished, Malin’s communication throughout was excellent and she went the extra mile to help with our plans and running of our wedding, our day couldn’t have been more perfect! The venue itself has been tastefully restored with every detail being personally picked. The facilities are all excellent making the work of the bar and catering staff simple and straight forward. And the view just speaks for itself, you don’t get much better in our opinion. We would highly recommend the boathouse to anyone looking for a stylish venue with stunning views, seaside sunsets and a great team to support your wedding day plans. Rebecca & Graham

Our wedding at The Boathouse exceeded all of our expectations and dreams! The venue is absolutely stunning and situated in the most idyllic setting on the Isle of Arran. The views and scenery make for a beautiful outdoor ceremony if the weather permits. Malin was amazing throughout the whole planning process, from the ease of booking to answering all of our questions and requests. She went above and beyond for us to help the whole day run smoothly. Malin is so lovely and very approachable and nothing was too much trouble. Joel and Sarah from No 16 did an incredible job of running the bar. They provided an excellent selection of drinks and even tailored a cocktail to our request! They were very attentive throughout the day making sure everyone’s drinks were topped up. We couldn’t recommended The Boathouse enough, everyone involved helped make it a day we will never forget!
