A Beautiful Autumn, Scottish Wedding…

Good afternoon folks, have you seen the beautiful Great Gatsby inspired photoshoot of this morning yet?  This afternoon, I'd like to feature a Scottish wedding that was shot by the super-lovely Caroline Weiss of Candysnaps Photography. I'm really looking forward to meeting Caroline soon and spending time getting to know this fun and super lovely Photographer a little better.

The photographs here celebrate the wedding day of Amy and Chris, who tied the knot on 30 October 2010 at The Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh.

I just love the autumnal tones in this wedding – a deliberate choice made by the couple…

"We chose an autumnal theme for the flowers and the table decoration and this went well with the interior of the venue where there is a lot of wood. My Bridesmaids were in navy as this was a good contrast for my dress and we had a lot of gold which tied everything together nicely…"

Amy chose an Ian Stuart design as her wedding dress…

"The final choice was between this dress and a more elegant slinky evening number. I decided on this dress because I thought in the end, there's only one chance to wear something so amazing that I would never normally wear. I am so glad that I made that choice!"

Looks like a mighty good breakfast was had!

The couple chose The Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh as their venue…

"We wanted somewhere where we could have the ceremony and reception in the same place and chose the Physicians because it represents Edinburgh really well, being a beautiful and striking building inside and out.  It is in central Edinburgh which meant it was easily accessible for our guests and gave them lots of choice for accommodation…"

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Relax and remember that it is your day. Everyone else is there because they love you both and they are there to have a fabulous time so it is destined to be a great day from the start.  It's just a great excuse for a fantastic party!

If you are nervous about being the centre of attention, get everyone else involved and give people jobs to do. We had a couple of readings and a friend singing during our ceremony which made it really personal and took the pressure off us a but! We had a humanist ceremony. Most of our families had never experienced a humanist ceremony before and they absolutely loved it.

This may sound strange but it never even crossed my mind that I was going to enjoy myself on our wedding day. Not that I was dreading it or anything, just I was more concerned about everyone else having a good time. I never imagined that I would have such an awesome day, but we both truly did have the best day of our lives!
