We celebrated the launch of our new all-inclusive Wedding Yurt Package with an old English country tea party in the gardens of The Old Farmhouse last weekend, over the May bank holiday.

The sun actually shone, we sipped pink bubbly whilst enjoying the gorgeous view, ate delicious home-baked, straight out-of-the-oven scones with fresh cream and home-made raspberry jam. We relaxed in the yurts, under the trees in the orchard and on picnic blankets dotted around the beautiful gardens.

A blissful day in the Cotswolds countryside was enjoyed by all. Thank you to all who came and celebrated with us…

The day before our guests arrived we were very busy with a photo shoot capturing the finer details of our new Wedding Yurt Package. We would love to show you the beautiful pictures from the shoot and take the opportunity to introduce you to the yurt package concept, our ethos and our extremely talented and expert team led by Lizzie Jones of Wedding Yurts and Clare Lee of Lilylee Floral Designs and owner of The Old Farmhouse…

Our wedding yurts are beautifully hand-crafted from sweet chestnut wood and covered with cream canvas. They look very happy nestled amongst the trees and under the ancient weeping ash at The Old Farmhouse. Blending in to the countryside, they add to the beauty of the surrounding scenery…

Our theme at The Old Farmhouse for the launch photo shoot and tea party was an Old English Country Garden wedding. Clare used the tea cup as the central theme, hanging them in the trees and at night they held candles and lit a woodland path. They were used on the table planner and even sat atop the cake.

Exotic blended teas were displayed in vintage jars and the wonderful names of the teas were used as the table names. David Austin roses added perfectly to the Old English feel and were enhanced by using only traditional country garden flowers. Finally the touch of vintage glamour was created with a lady’s boudoir in a small yurt.

With antique mirrors and furniture, vintage books and crystal chandeliers the more chic than shabby theme was complete.

Lilyfee Floral Design and Styling…

Clare has lived in the village of Dumbleton for eight years and is hugely inspired by the soft colours and rolling hills of this beautiful part of England. “I hope this is reflected in my floral arrangements”. Clare takes delight in working very closely with each bride to create the desired result…

She has created many different styles of wedding – the classic romantic, informal country and awe-inspiring modern in venues such as 30 St Mary Axe "The Gherkin" in the City of London. “Styling comes naturally to me as I have always offered my brides more than just floristry, and this shoot has been enormous fun pulling all the tiny details together”. Recently, Lilyfee has been featured in several wedding magazines and blogs, and Clare is now the approved florist for the Cotswolds for David Austin Roses.

Wedding Yurts Catering…

Lizzie's background is in food and nutrition and so it makes perfect sense that she would want to keep the catering in-house. She worked on yoga retreats around the world for five years cooking healthy nutritious food and she opened a restaurant in Goa, India. Her passion for food and nutrition was inspired by her friend Foxy who is now head cook at Wedding Yurts

Foxy's food is simply exquisite, delicious home-cooked food prepared from fresh, seasonal and local produce catering for all dietary requirements. We had a lot of fun preparing a banquet of sumptuous foods for the photo shoot, it’s important for food to be simple, beautiful and delicious and to arouse all of the senses…
