Hello lovelies 🙂 Before the afternoon runs away and we’re into relaxing for the evening and weekend ahead, I had to share this wonderfully colourful wedding with you.
Fizz and Denny tied the knot on 7th September last year at Aickwood Tower on the Scottish Borders. The couple met via match.com in 2009 and got engaged while on holiday in India in 2011. Their wedding was a fabulously bright and cheerful celebration – I love how the bride handmade and hand embroidered all the pretty decor and details to help create a country fete style atmosphere.

“My brother walked me down the aisle to the sound of ‘For Lovers’ by Pete Doherty & Wolfman. During our ceremony we read a tweaked version of the traditional wedding vows and had the lyrics to ’Lovestrong’ by The Cure as a reading.
Robert Smith of The Cure wrote it for his wife on their wedding day and the song means a lot to us both.”
Fizz chose to wear a 50’s style gown by Dolly Couture that she purchased in New York. She also originally purchased a veil but decided not to wear it in the end.
The couple used vintage Babycham imagery for their menus…
Fizz actually baked all eight wedding cakes herself!
I spot two very cool page boys…
Seemed stockings finish off Fizz’s glamorous 50’s look…
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
“Get as much done in the early stages so on the lead up to the wedding you can chill.”
What a wonderfully colourful wedding, I just love it. Fizz and Denny – thank you so much for allowing us to share your day to inspire our readers – and thanks also to Mack Photography.
Ladies, I’d love to hear from those of you who are looking to create a colourful day like this one? What might you be doing to incorporate lots of pretty hues and colour bursts on your wedding day?
Love Annabel
