Lace & Co. is a super pretty bridal boutique that’s tucked away in the wonderful Yorkshire village of Horbury. Whilst the boutique first opened its doors back in 2013, it’s now moving to a fantastically quirky old building that was originally a bespoke tailors more than one hundred years ago. But, whilst the walls might be full of history, what’s now inside them is everything today’s bride could want.

“We specialise in fabulous vintage-inspired 1950s style tea-length dresses, intricate French lace bridal gowns and romantic bohemian dresses from a range of award winning designers,” says owner Heidi Waring. “Since we opened, we’ve grown organically and enjoyed a level of success I never could have dreamed of. I was determined that we’d only move when the time and the location was right.”

“Our new building is incredible. It’s so pretty with so much history and it’s given us the opportunity to consider new collections as well as giving us space to entertain our lovely brides. Most importantly, it still feels like a boutique – I’ve always been certain that I don’t ever want Lace & Co. to feel lake a large and overwhelming bridal shop and I’m delighted that our new building still feels personal and friendly.”

Lace & Co. stocks gowns from designers such as Claire Pettibone, Charlotte Balbier, Rembo Styling and House of Mooshki plus gorgeous vintage inspired headpieces by Flo & Percy and HT Headwear plus adorable bridal shoes by Charlotte Mills.

“We’ve got a very unique and fresh style,” continues Heidi. “Whilst we specialise in tea-length dresses and ethereal boho gowns, we like to think that every dress we stock has an extra touch of elegance and subtlety so that instead of being ‘on trend’, the gown reflects each bride’s individuality.”

And that sense of individuality runs right through everything that Lace & Co. does, which might be why the boutique has featured in Vogue and won an award. From lovely long appointments where you’re treated more like a friend than a client to a truly eclectic mix of gowns that Heidi carefully selects to offer something different to brides.

If a designer tells us that a particular style is a best-seller, we immediately know it’s not a dress for us. We want the styles of our collections to be different and exciting. Many of our gowns can be chosen by brides in a variety of lengths, with different bodice shapes and overlays and over 80 colour combinations – such a fabulous choice allows brides to choose a gown that is really personal to them and that is reflected in the happiness we see on our brides’ faces when they share their wedding day photos with us afterwards.”
