In early October, the wedding world’s eyes focus firmly on New York as some of the greatest names in bridal fashion debut their new collections in The Big Apple. Today, we’re absolutely overjoyed to feature one of the star labels from Bridal Fashion Week, the utterly entrancing new haute couture bridalwear collection from Atelier Pronovias and the 2017 Pronovias collection, which is simply bursting with brilliant new designs.
Inspired by the romance and magic of a starry night, these new designs are simply sublime. Each gown is unique and incredibly elegant, made with the highest quality fabrics and finished with the most exquisite embellishments. Atelier Pronovias describes their new designs as “a haute couture collection featuring soft lines and fine fabrics, delicately created to the very last details”.
The Pronovias show in New York was the hot ticket of the week and those lucky enough to make it onto the guest list were the first to see these beautiful gowns.
The new wedding dress collections are lighter than last season’s with a fabulous minimalist meets modern luxury feel. Hérvé Moreau, the Creative Director at Pronovias, has designed the gowns and there’s a real contemporary elegance throughout both collections.
There are simple shapes such as mermaid and pencil skirts that are designed to highlight and enhance your figure alongside princess dresses with wide skirts, gowns with long over-skirts, structured bodices and even some sexy yet sophisticated side splits on designs such as Naomi and Nenufar. Some of the gowns, such as Natura, boast backs that merge into long trains and there are also new short dresses such as Olga that exude a playful 1950s vibe.
There are also on-trend pockets and cute bow waist details on Aras, Otawa and Osasun from the Pronovias collection.
The materials that Pronovias have used in both the haute couture and bridal collections also play a huge role in make these new wedding dresses so delightful. We all know that Pronovias has loved lace for a long time but now; it’s used with the lightest touch, often in a collage style to bring extra texture and volume. Chantilly lace cascades over these gowns and Pronovias describe this perfectly when they say that lace is “like strategic brush strokes, defining and flattering the figure.”
In addition to lace, you’ll also notice plenty of crepe along with touches of taffeta and chiffon as all the fabrics combine to bring freshness and flow. This is the first time that Pronovias has used Valentina gauze in their designs and my goodness; it’s created the perfect ethereal look. However, it’s the embellishments that are going to make your heart soar…

The Atelier Pronovias and Pronovias 2017 collections really are full of the most remarkable hand embroidery. This time, there are new shapes, patterns and colours not to mention feathers (check out the neckline on Noa!), silk threads and coloured gemstones scattered throughout the collections.
There are also fantastic details on the backs of the gowns with plenty of stylish sheer layering. You’ll also notice that the internal structure of the dresses has been pared down so create lighter silhouettes so you can be sure that every design a joy to wear.
Pronovias has also used colour to great effect and the gowns that feature a degrade effect with layers and layers of tulle are just sublime. White, in all its forms, still reigns supreme but I love the pastel tulles in pink, vanilla and green shades, especially when they’re combined with heavenly lace overlays.
Pronovias’ stellar New York show was the culmination of three months planning. Held in the historic Prince George Ballroom in Manhattan, the show was full of international models and the front row was packed with celebrities and socialites not to mention Alberto Palatchi, the President of Pronovias. The finale drew a standing ovation that went on for some time!
