I put a Twitter message out this morning "anybody know of any up and coming/new/independent designers producing vintage inspired wedding dresses?" Within a few moments, the lovely Kirstie over at Flo and Percy had sent me a link to the Charlotte Casadéjus website.
How completely and utterly drop dead gorgeous, are these? Elegance personified…

Charlotte Casadéjus maintains one of the world's largest collections of antique French embroidered linen including a number of rare collector's pieces. She makes regular trips to southern France to source the finest antique linen monograms. These monograms, which were typically the dowry of nineteenth and early twentieth century French brides, are then sympathetically combined with the highest quality vintage linens to produce a variety of unique and exquisite home accessories, clothing and gifts. You can view her beautiful home deco pieces here, they include monogramed bolsters, embroidered cushions, and an absolutely exquisite collection of original vintage bags, that date from as early as 1910, through to 1960.
I shall be writing a separate blog article on restored vintage bags very soon. For now, I'd like to focus on Charlotte's debut wedding and evening dress collection. This is all about world-class, dress making mastery at it's very finest…
Charlotte’s passion for exciting vintage design, and luxury through the ages has translated into a collection of contemporary classics. Each beautifully crafted piece, from the 70’s inspired tuxedo-dress to the 1900’s lace paneled design, contains original vintage details including antique buckles, beading, lace and trims, thereby making every dress unique. Rich silks, georgettes and embroidered organdies combine with hand-finishing to create an elegant and timeless feel. The collection is absolutely of the moment, whilst subtly echoing its heritage of couture techniques.
Chalotte also has a range of original and vintage accessories at her studio, that include tiaras, shrugs, bags, hair clips, veils and jewellery.
