An Art Deco Bride and an Elegant Vintage Wedding {Part 2} …

If you didn't see Part 1 of this Art-Deco Vintage Wedding, set in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, then click here.

English Bride Jo, and her Husband Rob, flew to the Fairmont in
Banff Springs
, Alberta, to tie the knot on 29 December 2009; I love how Jo made such an effort to style herself in the era she loves the most ~ the 1930's ~ she pulls of the whole glamorous look incredibly well (especially with that Clinique red lipstick),  but it's even more impressive that she actually made her own hair accessory and jewellery.

And I guess more impressive still, that she managed to pull off her 'temporary' £13.50 Marks and Spencers Wedding Ring! 😉

I am just in love with these parents shots  the ladies look so completely glamorous – a real effort made in their parts to fit in with Jo's overall intended '1930's glamour' theme of the day.  I'm not sure I've ever seen such fabulously decked out Mums! …

Jo's dress was 'Alice', by Jenny Packham.  I simply adore the cut of Jenny Packham dresses, and the fabric falls so beautifully, creating a truly elegant appeal…

"The cakes was made by Barbara at Cake Creations; they were the best
cupcakes I have ever tasted, all our guests said the same we had some
chocolate and some vanilla and the top cake was a fruit cake that was
also delicious! I let hubby chose the cake it’s about the only thing I
let him chose hehe! Rob just adores cakes and he loves the snow which
is why he chose to have the bride and groom snowmen on the top he was
really excited about the cake!"

Yes, it would appear Rob does indeed adore his cake!

"He took about 100
pictures of it from every different angle and then spent the rest of
our holiday scoffing his face!"

Ahh, lanterns, what a super idea! So romantic, watching them fly gently away in to the night sky….   there are lots of companies that can supply lanterns for weddings (just Google), but do check with your venue as some locations require you to obtain permission before releasing.  Lucky for Jo and Rob that they sit back and soak up the romance of watching all their beautiful lanterns float away in to the night sky, their lights inside flickering gentle until they disappeared out of view…

"After dinner we went outside into the freezing cold and lit our
lanterns that my maid of honour bought for us, it is a symbol of luck!
They were awesome and went on for miles!!!  Then we just boogied the night away and drunk champagne punch, it was the most perfect day."

And a beautiful couple of shots to finish off this lovely real wedding feature with.  There is no doubting the love between these too ~ I just love that shot on the right, the lighting, the look of love – a priceless moment in time captured on camera…
