I have for you a rather fabulous multi-cultural extravaganza on Love My Dress today!
This is the wedding of Sumi and Fraser who married via an 'Indian-Scottish' fusion wedding on 5 June this year, with a ceremony at Bearsden Town Hall in Glasgow, followed by a reception at Mar Hall.
"We were having an Indian/Scottish 'fusion' wedding (Fraser said this at his speech and it seems to have stuck!), and so it kind of took off from there. The fusion aspect was amazing – Fraser, myself and our families had a dress change half way through, to celebrate both cultures, and the bridesmaids looked stunning in their saris from India, and even managed to ceilidh dance in them! 🙂
The priest who married us is a family friend whom I've known since I was young, and he was brilliant at explaining the ceremony to our guests (and to us!!) as we went along. We really didn't want it to be an all cream and beige wedding if you know what I mean, (not that there's anything wrong with that of course!) and so we had it all bright, fun and colourful. We basically wanted to have a big party with all our friends and family to celebrate the fact that we were getting married, and thats' exactly what we did. Such a cliche, but having fun and enjoying every minute of it is the best way to do it! And we had an absolute ball – With the music, we had a piper during the Hindu ceremony, and had a total mix of everything – a jazz band, a ceilidh, some Bollywood numbers, some Bhangra and the rest – good old fasioned disco!"
Sumi's beautiful red sari is from India – she later wore a white wedding dress (which you'll see in part 2 coming up later today)…

Wow!!!!!
So colourful and bright, so many smiles and so much laughter, I love this wedding and I love how Photographer Caroline has captured it on camera, it is truly beautiful!
