I caught up with the lovely Jo Barnes of Jo Barnes Vintage yesterday afternoon. Jo designs her own vintage inspired jewellery and head-pieces and was inspired to do so after creating the pieces she wore on her own wedding day in December 2009 (which featured on Love My Dress here).
"I started by making my own bridal bouquet and headdress which I created from my grandmothers pearl necklaces and brooches from the 1940's. It is my passion to create new designs, it makes me extremely proud to have brides wear my creations on their special day. I believe that accessories are a very important part of a brides outfit, its wonderful to be able to help brides to be pick the perfect accessory adding the all important finishing touches to compliment their beautiful gown.
I rummage far and wide for wonderful vintage jewellery and source beautiful pieces from all over the world. All the jewellery I use is repaired and cleaned – but each piece is original 'vintage'. After all, so may show some signs of age this is what adds character to your headdress or accessory"

I first featured Jo Barnes Vintage Headpieces and Accessories back in November and since then, I am absolutely thrilled that Jo has gone on to secure a number of stockists as a result of her appearances on Love My Dress. I was delighted to hear yesterday that Jo's designs will be appearing in next month's issue of Vogue Magazine too. An incredible achievement for a lady who was inspired to establish her creative business through the planning of her own wedding.
I'm extra in love with Jo at the moment for putting me in touch with her Brother, an Artist, who is setting up a business replicating, in his own signature paint style, your favourite wedding images on canvass. I received a painting yesterday and it is truly absolutely beautiful – watch out for a full feature in a couple of weeks time and details of how you can commission your own personal work of art.
