Good Morning! :) Thought I'd welcome you all to Wednesday with a delightful post-wedding photoshoot, courtesy of a new Manchester and North West Wedding Photographer, Katy Lunsford.
Katy told me all about this very special photoshoot, in which the stunning Peak DIstrict played backdrop…
"The very gorgeous Amy and Kenny are good friends of mine, and when
they announced their engagement last year I was over the moon for them.
Then I discovered to my disappointment that their wedding was going to
be bang in the middle of our family holiday in Tuscany. We tried to find
a way to get to the wedding, and contemplated flying back for the
weekend, but unfortunately it wasn't feasible.
Nearly a year on it still
makes me sad that I missed seeing – and photographing – two of my
favourite people tie the knot 🙁 (Especially as they're both so damn
gorgeous!) To try and make up a little for missing their big day, I
suggested that they get dressed up in their wedding gear again and we
head out to Dovestones in the Peak District for a fashion-style shoot…."
I just adore these images and the way Katy has captured the spirit of the moment – and the movement in Amy's dress! The Marilyn style shot below is one of my favourites!

"Dovestones resevoir is on the
edge of the Peak District, about half an hour from Manchester city
centre. I wanted to use the stunning scenery to create some beautiful
romantic images that really captured Amy & Kenny's relationship, and
to really show off the amazing dress. I love to use unusual backdrops
too, so the old boathouse door gave us a more urban, contemporary feel
for some funky, magazine-style images.
There often isn't time on the wedding day itself to create these
kinds of photographs, so having a 'post-wedding' shoot can be a great
way of getting beautiful, creative images in a more relaxed situation.
It's also a brilliant opportunity to put that fabulous wedding dress
back on, when you don't mind getting it a little dirty, and show it off
to its full potential…"
"Amy & Kenny are a match made in heaven – they are both
incredibly fun and creative, with a genuine love for others and looking
after the world. This is reflected in their fabulous outfits – style
with a heart!
Her stunning dress was
from Oxfam, providing one and a half wells for Africa! Kenny brushed up
rather well too – can you tell he's a fashion designer?! His bespoke
suit and shirt are from Scottish tweed specialists Walker Slater, the
beautiful silk scarf was handmade from fabric he bought when travelling
in China, and his vintage shoes were inherited. (And not particularly
suitable for walking through mud in the hills and may now be slightly
worse for wear… sorry Kenny!)"
Amy's beautiful antique lace headpiece was worn by her
mother on her wedding day, the pretty crochet bolero was an eBay find,
and the quirky shoes were by Irregular Choice.
Cute wedding garter detail around the welly boot there Amy! 🙂 …
LOVE this shot below… love love love it! Fills me with romance it does….
Thank you so much Katy for sharing these wonderful images 🙂
Anyone else planning a post-wedding photoshoot – maybe cherish or trash the dress style?
Happy half way to the weekend everyone! 🙂
