Charlotte and Stephen’s gorgeous city wedding was held on 19th May 2023 at The Monastery in Manchester.
This extraordinary city wedding venue – a breathtakingly beautiful Grade II listed heritage site and neo-gothic architectural treasure – provided the most romantic and stunning backdrop for this modern couple’s nuptials.
The bride is obsessed with the 70’s and adores disco and wanted to incorporate a Studio 54 vibe on her wedding day. She chose to wear the Cove dress by Rue de Seine, which she discovered at the Jean Jackson Couture boutique, 70’s inspired platform heels and a bohemian inspired veil.
These beautiful, joyous photographs were captured by Luke Hassall. ENJOY this belter of a wedding lovelies!

The Dress, Veil & Accessories
I wore the ‘Cove‘ dress by Rue de Seine, which I discovered at th, Jean Jackson Couture bridal boutique.
Both Rebecca and Jean at the boutique are amazing – super talented and kind. It was so hard to choose a dress – I loved every single dress in their shop! After trying many gowns on, I got it down to five dresses, went back with my mum
I wore a pair of silver platform shoes from Russell and Bromley and my perfume was Woodsage & Sea Salt, by Jo Malone.
My veil was handmade by the dreamt team at Jean Jackson couture – it went perfectly with my dress.
My bridesmaids wore the Grace dress by Ghost – a satin mini dress in ivory.

The Ceremony
My dad walked me down the aisle, to the sound of the Rosegold Music Gospel Choir singing ‘You Got The Love’.
Walking down the aisle and seeing all my family, my friends, my soon-to-be husband and son with huge smiles, was one of my favourite moments of the day.
Our rings were from Jenny Jones Jewellery – I love the antique style of our rings. My engagement ring was from here too.
Photography
We had Luke Hassall photograph our wedding as we loved his style of work.
Luke is super laid back and captured our day perfectly in his photographs.

How They Met
We met in a Manchester night club called North and got engaged on Christmas day, 2022. We’ve been together for 20 years.
Stephen wore a made to measure tuxedo, from Doherty, Evans & Stott – bespoke suit makers and tailors in Manchester.
The Reception
The Monastery in Manchester
Rodo Creative created our wedding invitations, table planners and stationery.
Catering was supplied in-house by the venue, but our cake was by Grace James Cakes – Grace is a very good friend of mine – her cakes are the best so she was the only choice for me.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
The whole day was over so quickly – I recommend taking some time out with your partner to savour the day as it’s happening. This day is so very special, and I’m so glad we did this, as you can easily get lost in all the moments.
