Some Brides are born too darn beautiful! Some Brides really don't have to spend much at all to look absolutely knock-out on their wedding day. This wedding is certainly testament to that.
Annie and Chris Carolan tied the knot on 31 March this year, at Windsor Guildhall.
Annie's Dress was from British Home Stores; "I had had a dress in my mind for a long time but couldn't find
anything that matched this. I wanted something very similar to the one
Monica Gellar wore in Friends; elegant, sleek and timeless. I stumbled
upon my 'Alicia' dress in BHS and it just so happened that it was only
£120, which worked very well with our modest budget…"
These images were captured by Photographers, Studio Rouge
– and I will be featuring a series of their beautiful wedding
photographs over the coming weeks. I adore their style and the way they
bring the best out in the couples they are working with. I love this
particular set of photographs, for how Bride Annie works the camera! A
natural beauty indeed in front of the lens, these images bring out a
truly beautiful and glowing Bride on her wedding day…

Annie's pretty single tier veil was sourced from UK Wedding Veils, and her shoes were from Paradox London. She wore a pretty bracelet by Tiffany & Co
(a gift from the groom), earrings from EBAy, a vintage brooch on her
dress and she also sported a beautiful vintage clutch bag.
Annie's Hair was styled by her own Mum and her makeup was applied by Charlotte Elizabeth, using a combination of MAC and Bobbi Brown products…
Annie's bouquet was by Sarah's Flowers…
"We opted for false flowers as
we had a reception in England and another in Melbourne following our
wedding and we wanted the flowers to be used for all 3 events. We were
very impressed with the quality and service provided by Sarah's Flowers…"
Red Romance…
"Red is both of our favourite colour so it was very easy to decide on
the colour scheme! It is also a coincidence that Chris's favourite
Australian Rules Football Team (Saint Kilda) play in red, white and
black so he was more than happy with the choice! We bought the
bridesmaids dresses 2 days after we got engaged in the Next Sale and
built the rest of the wedding around them. We also wanted a timeless,
elegant day that will not age in photographs. We had seen (and laughed
at!) way too many 1990s wedding photos with ridiculous outfits and lots
of lilac and we didn't want our photos to look as dated in the future."
Don't Annie's Bridesmaids look wonderfully radiant in red?! Their dresses were from Next and their glamorous golden heels were from various suppliers, including Aldo, New Look, Dorothy Perkins and Dolcis…
Guildhall Grandeur…
"We chose the venue as we wanted a civil ceremony but in a venue which had the same grandeur as a church, and we certainly got that! All the Registry Offices and hotels we had seen had a very clinical look and the Guildhall really stood out for us. Plus half of our guests were from Australia, so the little Royal touches made a big impact!"
An English Rose…
Annie walked down the aisle to 'English Rose', by Paul Weller…
"As Chris is Australian and had moved to
England to be with Annie we felt that the lyrics were very appropriate.
My Father and I are also fans of Paul Weller and it was nice to
walk down to a song he has loved for years…"
I adore this shot below, with the pretty red and ivory parasols!
Short and Sassy…
Annie opted for a shorter dress in the evening, which was handmade by Chris's Australian Aunt – and beautiful it is too! Annie looks like a vision of Audrey Hepburn in this little number…
Words of Wisdom…
"As I got more and more stressed out in the planning, so many
people told me in the lead up to the wedding, 'the small things don't
matter on the day'… and every time I shrugged off the advice. However,
having gone through it now as I Bride I can truthfully say that the
small little things that go wrong really don't matter.
On the day
however, knowing that everything was now out of my hands, I was so relaxed and
calm, which surprised everyone!
Shop around for your suppliers and try to put as much of your
personalities as possible in your day – the personal touches mean the
most to your guests and will make your day memorable for everyone."
Oh how naturally beautiful is all this? I love it, and no doubt, Annie and Chris will LOVE their wedding photos for years and years to come. And I'm sure going to have to have a red kind of day now!
Thank you so much Annie for providing the detail behind your beautiful wedding day photographs – huge congratulations to you and Chris :) Thanks also to Lynsey from Studio Rouge for allowing us to reproduce these beautiful images – much more from Studio Rouge coming up – and believe me, it's FAB.U.LOUS!!!
