Connie in Unbridled Studio For Her Classic, Colourful & Intimate Restaurant Wedding

Unbrldled Studio wedding dress 5

Some weddings linger in your heart long after the confetti has settled, and Connie and Mark’s August celebration in Birmingham is one such unforgettable day.

Dressed in a beautiful modern bridal separates, by Liverpool-based Unbridled Studio, Connie’s bridal look was the perfect blend of classic elegance and modern versatility that enabled her to transition her look effortlessly from ceremony to an evening of celebration. With just thirteen loved ones and their adorable whippet, Bliss, by their side, the couple created an intimate wedding full of colourful details and heartfelt moments. From the vibrant, bold blooms to the embroidered napkins at dinner, every element of this day was thoughtfully considered and a lovely representation of the couple’s style.

This beautiful day is proof that an intimate wedding can still be a grand celebration of love, meaning, and creativity. Love and thanks to Anna at Unbridled Studio and photographer Laura Christou. Enjoy!

My veil was also fromUnbridled Studio – it was floor length with a shorter section at the back, making it a little more fun. It wasn’t heavy at all – so much so I forgot to remove it at the end of the night.

My perfume was Tom Ford’s ‘Smoky Cherry’, because it’s my favourite scent – and it’s in a red bottle!

I wore cream block heel shoes from Maje.

My earrings and necklace were from Mudd Pearl. I had been eyeing them up for a while but the brand is based in New York. My boyfriend happened to be called away with work to NYC the week before the wedding – so he picked them up for me!

My hair stylist was Bec Armitage and my makeup artist was Alexandra Clare – both of whom made the morning so relaxing and enjoyable whilst me, my mum and nieces got ready.

The Dress

Unbridled Studio

Anna, from Unbridled Studio, helped me pick the perfect outfit for the day. I went for a floor length gown which was fitted, but not tight, so was comfortable throughout the day.

I also wore a matching top over the dress with sleeves – as I wanted a longer sleeve for the ceremony. I was able to remove the top later on in the day to give a second look.

Anna spent time listening to what I liked and I tried on a few different dresses. I really like Anna’s style and I knew I would purchase one of the dresses as soon as I went to the studio.

I wanted a dress which was classic but also reflected my personal, more modern, style. Something versatile and able to be re-worn after my wedding – and also, something comfortable to spend the day in!

Anna helped me pick the perfect outfit. I chose the Clara gown and Laurie top. This enabled me to have two looks for the wedding – I removed the top after the speeches.

I really liked how I was able to have a second look by removing my top. I also like the fact I can wear my dress again.

I would recommend Unbridled Studio to anyone who wants a classic but modern look for their wedding day.

The theme of the day was classic and colourful. I wanted the flowers bright and colourful to reflect the happy day Our florist Ellis did a perfect job of filling the Church and restaurant with beautiful flowers.

We got married in Our Lady and All Saints Church, Stourbridge. We chose to get married here as it’s the local church where we both grew up. My dad walked me down the aisle to the sound of Wagner’s Wedding March, ie, ‘Here comes the Bride’.

Mark got my engagement ring from Kataoka and I adore it. It made sense to get our wedding bands from the same place. Our rings were hand made in Japan – and we actually went to Japan for our honeymoon. My favourite part of the day was officially getting married in the Church surrounding by our immediate family. It was a very special moment and one I will always remember.

Photography

Our photographer was Laura Christou. Laura is a friend of a friend and I have followed her on IG for a few years. I love her style of wedding photography as it is more natural shots in the moment, rather than staged photos. Laura also shoots on film which I love.

Laura was incredible on the day, helping me get ready, organising the family and being such a lovely vibe. I would recommend Laura, absolutely!

Mark and I met at school so we have known each other since we were twelve years old. We were good friends at school but didn’t become a couple until we were eighteen. We got engaged during lockdown, December 2021. After purchasing our house, we thought it a good time to tie the knot.

During our early twenties I went to University in Sheffield and Mark spent 18 months training in New Zealand. We began living together in 2016 and have spent the past eight years in Manchester, where we live with our whippet, Bliss.

 The Reception

We had our reception at Simpsons Restaurant in Birmingham. It was the perfect venue with incredible food. There was an outdoor covered patio area where we had drinks and pictures taken. There was a private dining room which was the perfect size for our intimate wedding of 13 guests.

Our photographer Laura also did the design work for the invites, order of service and menus!

We have napkins embroidered with everyone’s name on them. This was organised by our florist. Eliss from Bush florals did the table décor – she used florals, fruits and candles.

Don’t stress over the small stuff. And do exactly what you want to do! Also, I’m glad we kept the wedding day to our immediate family as it was intimate and very low stress!
