Joanne Fleming – Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil…

If you checked in to Love My Dress yesterday, then you'll have seen our feature introducing you to the wonderful Joanne Fleming of Joanne Fleming Design.

Today, I have the pleasure of Joanne gracing the Love My Dress pages once again – this time, with images from a photoshoot of her most recent collection, which is rather exotically titled 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil'. 

I adore this collection and think these designs would make the most AMAZING Bridesmaids dresses…{did you see the Joanne Fleming Design emerald green Bridesmaids dresses at the end of yesterday's feature?), or even an alternative wedding down, if ivory or white isn't your thing…

"My latest collection is called 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil', and was inspired by a visit to Savannah, GA (in particular the Bonaventure Cemetery).

The name refers to the time in Voodoo between the hour for good magic, and the hour for bad magic. This photoshoot captures one half of the collection – the other part consists of shorter frothier styles in fondant colours…"

"My work is informed by period styles, such as 1930s bias-cuts, or Regency Spenser jackets, but I like to combine these influences with more contemporary techniques to ensure that the finished design is not merely costume.

For this latest collection, I've used bias-cut silk crepe back satins embellished with laser cut petals in muted tones of heather and shaded green.  Of course, all of these styles can be made in ivory silks as well…"
