I guess it's not that often that a Father get's to photograph his own Son's wedding. And I guess that when that happens, the chances of that Photographer being one of the countries most talented and well respected Photographers are fairly small. But one thing I am sure of, is that when this combination occurs, there is almost certainly bound to be a little bit of magic happen behind the camera 🙂
Which is why I'm feeling honoured, and thrilled to be featuring this particular wedding on the Love My Dress Wedding Blog today.
Acclaimed Photographer, Chris Hanley, who I was lucky enough to meet
when I was invited by Chris and Damien Lovegrove to attend this Vintage
Cherish The Dress photoshoot, and who I now consider myself lucky enough to call a friend, sent me these photographs for a feature last month. These images depict the most fantastically stylish wedding day, that of Chris's Son Paul and Paul's wife Sophie, who tied the knot on 17 July 2010 at Sandon Hall in Staffordshire.
Paul and Sophie are no stranger to this blog – their Engagement session was as much of a stylish affair and featured on Love My Dress here {Sophie wore a gorgeous pale blue 1950's frock!}.
Today it's all about the wedded couple though, and I hope you enjoy looking through these super photographs as much as I have 🙂 …

Red Soled Romance…
Sophie's fabulous shoes were by the one and only, Christian Louboutin! My GOODNESS, they are gorgeous!
Sophie's fabulous dress was by Go Bridal in Birmingham, but was
customised by hand by Sophie and her Mother, to make it an original, one
off piece!…
"On the morning of the wedding, Paul had a 1.5carat diamond pendant
delivered to my room, it is beautiful and I wore this on the day. It
matched perfectly to the diamond bracelet and diamond earrings he'd
bought me the year before…"
High Fashion Frocks and Flowers…
Sophie's Bridesmaids wore Karen Millen and the wedding day florals were provided by Alison O'Mara of Stone, Staffordshire…
"Being
a local village florist, she had the time and eye to create a stunning
arrangement of whites and greens, including all of my favourite flowers:
peonies, hydrangeas and white roses…"
Tailor Made to Perfection…
Paul's suit was tailor made by Blazer of Cheltenham. He also wore
Tiffany & Co Cufflinks, Paul Smith Collar Straighteners (a gift from
Sophie), a Raymond Weil Watch and Hugo Boss custom designed tie….
Sandon Hall, Staffordshire…
For anyone looking for a central Midlands Wedding Venue, Sandon Hall in Staffordshire. should certainly be on your list…
"Not only is it a breathtakingly beautiful venue, it also happened to
be half way between Cheshire and Worcestershire where our respective
families live!"

Decor…
"We had some vintage Indian tea-light holders imported for the
occasion. We custom made our own tea light holders with a decorative
lace surround. Our table names were names of places Paul & I had
travelled together in recent years and were made from laser cut silver
in a handwriting style (see photographs)…"
Chocolate Cake to Die For…
Sophie
and Paul's wedding cake was custom made by a close friend and comprised
of milk chocolate sponge cake topped with white chocolate icing; "for chocoholics like us, it was perfect!"
See what they did there…? hehehe!! 🙂
