A Beautiful Bride Inspired by Art Deco…

Hi Everyone :)  I simply couldn't let today pass without sharing a beautiful wedding with you all – that, primarily, is what I'm here for anyway right?

Jessica & Ben celebrated their wedding day on 23 October this year, with a ceremony at St John the Baptis Campsea Ashe Church, followed by a reception at The Old Rectory in Campsea Ashe.

I adore Jessica's wedding day style, that gorgeous birdcage veil, drop earrings and that beautiful dress!  Jessica took inspiration from the art-deco movement in styling her wedding day look…

"I have always loved art deco. I was worried about being cold in late October but when my sister suggested wearing stoles it all came together from there. Love My Dress was a real inspiration -  I was so relieved to find some quality suppliers out there!

I am also in love with all things sparkly. I saw the fabric when I was buying Bridesmaid fabric at Broadwick Silks in Soho and fell in love with it. I took it to Clem of Clem Short Couture, and she let the fabric do the talking with her design. I love the low back and three simple straps at the back. Clem also made our faux fur stoles which kept us nice and warm in the autumn weather…"

These beautiful photographs were submitted to the Love My Dress Wedding Blog by Sara Thomas, Contemporary Wedding and Portrait Photographer in Sussex, Essex and Cambridgeshire – thank you Sara…

What a beautiful and elegant figure Bride Jessica cuts.

The couple chose St John the Baptis Campsea Ashe Church and  The Old Rectory in Campsea Ashe as the locations for their wedding day.  Bride Jessica explains this choice…

"I spent one night at Sally & Mike Ball's luxury Bed and Breakfast in the Suffolk countryside and fell in love with their stylish yet relaxed home. Ben is from Suffolk so we were looking for a place where my family (coming from New Zealand) could all stay, that was also close for Ben's suffolk-based family. Reverend Harry Edwards was so welcoming at Campsea Ashe Church…"

Jessica hired Hair and Make-up Artist Denise Michelle to help perfect her make-up on the day…

"Sydney, who did my hair, brought some wait for it…sparkly hair pins as I was originally thinking of taking my birdcage off later. Turns out it didn't even occur to me and I left it on all night!"

I have to say, I'm rather liking those Bridesmaids headpieces! …

"My sister had these made by Amy Jansen-Leen Millinery in New Zealand – I think the girls look like 1940's film stars!

My Seamstress Clem Short created Stefania's (silver) dress, my Mum created my sister's (dusky pink) and Olivia (midnight blue) had her's made in Hong Kong. With bridesmaids in three different countries it seemed the easiest thing to do! I sent them the fabric, my sister and mum researched some art deco ideas and they all designed their own dresses."

Ben wore a Ted Baker Suit and the groomsmen all wore waistcoats from Neal and Palmer

"The guys all wore their own dark grey suits. Ben choose the ivory waistcoats and midnight blue ties to bring it all together"

"We mixed up lots of ideas from the 1920s, 30s and 40s – and of course modern stuff like Ben's sharp Ted Baker suit. I didn't want the the wedding to looked too 'themed; – just 'inspired by'."
