A Second Wedding Celebration at Shoreditch House, London…

Good morning everyone 🙂 I've been up bright and early finishing off this morning's blog feature to share with you – Emma & David got married in Sardinia in August this year, but had a celebration back home in England, late October, and commissioned UK Wedding Photographer Joanna Brown to capture the fun and merriment on camera.

I love Joanna's alternative style of photography and how she has managed to document some really intimate moments between friends.  No formal group shots here – you know, the kind we usually all flick through to get to the 'real' photographs; Joanna has done a beautiful job of crafting those 'real' images that we pause to enjoy and find ourselves smiling and giggling back at.  The retro/kitsch edit of these photographs also works beautifully with the couple's personal sense of style and against the contemporary backdrop of their chosen venue, Shoreditch House in London.

I also love Emma's beautiful Jenny Packham 'Petra' dress and headpiece…

"It felt more like a glamorous evening dress and was light weight, which was perfect for our wedding in Italy on a hot day in August and it also suited the night time party that we had a Shoreditch House.

I had originally decided that I would not wear a wedding  dress. I had been shopping with a friend for her wedding dress and had seen the dressnand dismissed it for her.  I went to bed on Sunday night and woke up Monday morning thinking I had to have this dress.  I went that week to try it on and knew it was the right dress for me."

The couple chose Shoreditch House for their wedding celebration back home, because it offers a relaxed and informal environment, and because they enjoy industrial spaces…

"We had the best of both worlds.  We enjoyed the intimate wedding in Italy and it was really great to be able to spend lots of  time with everyone that was there with us.

The party in London was fantastic and we were really able to let our hair down and it was more of a big party.  The two days were really different and we are very lucky that they were both fantastic…"

Euphoric Flowers provided these pretty posies…

"The florist's were fantastic and really listened to what we wanted and were amazing to deal with.  We wanted tea party style flowers with odd vases in a muted colour tone.  We had seen them on a wedding blog and they produce unusual and high quality arrangements…"

The photograph below makes me instantly want to go out and satisfy my hankering after a good old fashioned telephone.  To go with my good old fashioned typewriter!

Ahhh, beautiful pedicure there. Only red as red can come will do for me!

Emma told me "Joanna is really relaxed and we are so glad that we chose her.  My only regret is that we did not fly her out to Sardinia for Part one of our wedding…."

David wore a Paul Smith suit and bow tie by Start Boutique.  His shoes were H by Hudson and his shirt was from B Store

Emma also wore a pair of vintage diamond earrings, a wedding gift from her mother…

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Enjoy it all, remember it is all good.  These are fun decisions to make.  I enjoyed every minute of the planning and the two wedding days (greedy I know!) that we had."
