A Bespoke Silk Tulle Gown for A Fashion Designer Bride…

I love how this blog celebrates all things vintage inspired, gorgeous and glamorous, and it is with the latter in mind that I'm sharing this particular wedding with you this morning.

Jenny and Anthony tied the knot on 1 July last year with a wedding at the beautiful Syon Park in Brentford, London.

Jenny is a Fashion Designer, so her dress really had to be something special.  In fact, it was designed by her friend Yong, whose collection are sold in Harvey Nichols.  I just adore Jenny's head piece design too, by Million Design

"My dress was designed and hand made by my good friend. We are both in the fashion industry and met whilst working for Ghost. This dress was based on his first ever collection three years ago and I always said to him this will be 'THE wedding dress'.  The dress is made in layers of silk tulle.

My hair accessory was by Million Design, and custom made with vintage brooches and pearl beads.  My neclace, bracelet and earrings were also all custom made by Million Design (All Vintage).  Gillian owner is fab, and I would highly recommended here"

Many thanks to Gloucester contemporary wedding photographer David Jenkins for submitting these beautiful photographs…

Those gorgeous florals above were provided by 'The Conservatory'.

"We went for muted tones of dusky pink rose's which compliment bridesmaid dresses. I wanted a vintage inspired, yet contemporary look."

In terms of styling her wedding day, Jenny says her dress was her staring point and that everything else worked around this…

"I think planning is much easier if you know what you want and have a version!!!  I would recommend a wedding planner if decision making is not your strongest point…"

"My Bridesmaids dresses were designed by my Maid of honour who is the senior designer for Jigsaw. She sourced fabric from London and had them made in India. The dresses turned up few days before the wedding…..phew!!!"

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Go with your initial instinct and do not wait!!

As a fashion designer the dress, the little details, etc, I thought would be the most important thing to me.  However, surprisingly, memories of my family and friends having a amazing day is all I remembered – everything else didn't seem to matter!!!

The only regret we had was that we didn't  get the opportunity to step back for five minutes and absorb the moment; minutes felt like seconds!  Enjoy every second of the day – just enjoy the process of planning and let it be happy and stress free…….."
