Well, it's FRIDAY AFTERNOON – YAY! I know that many of you reading this will be winding down to the weekend now. Maybe you're attending a wedding this weekend, or off out to look for 'the' dress of your dreams. Whatever you're up to, I hope you have a lovely time 🙂
This afternoon's wedding is rather a glamorous one. Or rather should I say, the Bride is rather glamorous indeed 🙂
Les and Charlotte tied the knot on 1 January 2011 at Thornton Manor, Thornton, Heswell, Wirral, a venue described by the couple as beautiful, with open fires and a real 'vintage' feel – perfect for a Winter wedding.
Charlotte wore the beautiful 'Alice' wedding dress by Jenny Packham – it is one I tried on myself before settling on an alternative Jenny Packham design…
"I loved the vintage feel, the fabric and beeding detail, wanted more of an evening gown as the wedding was black tie…."

"The Venue provided the most inspiration and we worked everything around this. Working in fashion I always had a vintage theme in mind and wanted a black tie evening theme. The rest was kept quite neutral."
Charlotte wore a beautiful Emmy {for Jenny Packham} art-deco style fan comb in her hair, and a beautiful pearl bracelet that was borrowed from a close friend…
Charlotte's Bridesmaids wore dresses by Dessy…
I LOVE this photography….
Meanwhile one rather handsome Groom gets ready…
The couple chose personalised fortune tellers, that were supplied, designed and created by Lindsay Design of Prestwich as 'favours'. Infact hte couple had all their wedding stationery designed and produced by Lindsay Design….
Tall silver candelabra's provided understated elegance when it came to table decor…
I love that Charlotte and Les hired gramophone playing DJ's, 'It's A Windup!' to entertain their guests. I've featured 'It's A Windup Love My Dress before and was lucky enough to meet with musician and Gramophone enthusiast Matt Nickson and his wife Annabel and the Designer Vintage Bridal show last weekend… (my report on the show coming up soon!)…
The couple took their first dance to Stevie Wonder's 'All I Do is Think About You'…
"We are massive Stevie Wonder fans, and the words were so appropriate. It's a funky song – not too soppy – that we could have a good dance to!"
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
"Don't stress and just enjoy. Make sure you go with reccomendations for suppliers. Be careful not to get too many opinions and go with your instinct.
