A Balloon Filled, Vintage Postcard Inspired Wedding in London…

On Thursday evening, I was lucky enough to have been a guest at the Rock n Roll Bride party, hosted by my blogging buddy Kat Williams. Oh. My. GOD! It was flippin AMAZING. AMAZING I tell you. It felt almost overwhelming at times to be surrounded by so many people I've had the pleasure of working with via my wedding blog, and who wanted to come to say hi.  I cannot thank Kat enough for being such a great host, and for going to such a great effort to bring together this brilliant community we have here in the UK Wedding Industry 🙂

So, one of the ladies I finally got to meet on Thursday evening was Photographer Celine Chaplin.  Hooray for Celine!! She is soooo lovely :)  Not only a beauty to look at (the most shockingly gorgeous loooooong blonde hair) but smart and brilliant behind the camera too. I loved chatting to her about the projects she has on the go and the weddings she plans on having featured on Love My Dress.

This latest wedding was photographed by Celine too, it is the wedding of Annis and Dom, who tied the knot in 'classic London style' on 1 October 2010 with a ceremony at the OBE Chapel within St Paul's Cathedral, followed by a walk across the Millennium Bridge to a boat that took the couple down to Greenwich for a reception at The Trafalgar Tavern.

Annis's dress was Suzanne Neville design called 'Fortuniana' – a purchase from The Bride wedding boutique at St Albans and she wore pretty silk hydrangea flowers and pearl pins from Etsy in her hair

"I loved the curvy shape of the dress and was lucky enough to meet Suzanne Neville at The Bride in St Albans on a special designers day they had.

We worked together to add the capped sleeves so I know it was unique to me.

I treasure the picture Suzanne drew of it…"

The couple hired Rachel Morgan as their wedding florist…

"Rachel created classic white bouquets for the bridal party and button holes with avalanche roses and hydrangea. For the reception I wanted really colourful flowers and she created gorgeous centrepieces with purple and lilac stocks, deep red and hot pink grand prix roses and purple hydrangea with eucalyptus foliage – so gorgeous!"

"For the walk from St Paul's to the boat which was waiting over the river at Bankside, I didn't want our guests to get lost in the crowd so 3 of my friends had huge bunches of red helium balloons to give to all the guests.

It created a huge spectacle as we made our way across the Millennium Bridge with everyone cheering us on as we went.  It was like a dream!"

"As my invitations and table names were vintage postcards, I hired a vintage postbox, bought bundles of funny old postcards from Ebay and had that as an alternative to a guest book. We got some very lovely, some very funny and some very rude messages…."

Huge thanks to Annis and Dom for the kindness in sharing their wedding day – Annis, you look so beautiful, and I LOVE those balloons and of course your dress! {you are the first Suzanne Neville Bride I've had on my blog!!}  :)  And of course, it mostly goes without sayin! But big, loving thank you's to London Wedding Photographer, Celine Chaplin for her beautiful wedding photographs…

"Celine Chaplin. She was absolutely amazing – captured the day as a story which is exactly what I wanted. She loves what she does and you can really tell in the photos. Plus she's got a huge voice for a small lady!"

Hehehe! :)  You can see more from lovely Celine Chaplin on the Love My Dress Wedding Blog here – and do go see, it is wonderful.

Have a LOVELY late Friday afternoon and Friday evening everyone 🙂

Much love,
