I am still processing The Royal Wedding, and the impact it has had on me.
Watching the event occur live on TV both thrilled and fascinated me; from the mesmerisingly beautiful piece of music that is 'Ubi Caritas', by Royal Composer Paul Mealor that was sang by the choir at Westminster Abbey, to the way Catherine bowed her head each time William saluted, to that barely there 'are you ready?' look exchanged prior to the balcony kiss. From the shockingly beautiful Pippa Middleton {Philippa Charlotte is her actual name} and her heavenly white frock to the very gracious Mother of the Bride and Prince William's Father in Law bursting with Pride as he walked his Firstborn down the aisle to marry her Prince. Not least the way Catherine carried herself with such grace and elegance throughout it all. Grace by name, Grace by nature some {most?} might say, Catherine's gown having been inspired hugely by Grace Kelly's own wedding dress. The every way in which Catherine presented and carried herself on Friday guaranteed her acceptance into the hearts of pretty much an entire nation. I loved feeling like I was a tiny part of it just watching it all unfold on my TV screen.
I've poured through the papers and been glued to the main news websites for fresh images of the wedding. And then I discovered these photographs – and I was awestruck. Taken by a Photographer whose name has been pinging up on my radar more and more of late, and whose work I'm shortly due to feature on Love My Dress, these photographs are by Fanni Williams of Fubumedia.
No posed formal shots here – just a fantastic view from the street – or The Mall, if we're being specific 🙂 These images offer a perspective from one of the many thousands of visitors to London that day who came to witness history in the making.
The whole day was a huge triumph – a real treat for everyone, a tremendous occasion on all levels and the most wonderful celebration for our country.
Thank you so much Fanni Williams for allowing me to share your wonderful photographs with my readers…

"I am truly grateful and very lucky to have had the opportunity to take these photographs from where I was standing. It might have been an early start but I enjoyed the stroll from Marble Arch down Regents Street towards The Mall taking in the sights of London as I had never seen them before. Roads were empty and silent, shop windows adorned with flags and all things British in celebration of the Royal wedding, it was fantastic!
The atmosphere at Horseguards parade was joyous with people letting out an almighty roar at the sight of street cleaners whizzing along the route. Everyone was having fun!
As more people gathered the excitement grew and then it was TIME!. A celebration of such a love between two people is an amazing thing, regardless of who they are and where they've come from…"
Please take a moment to visit Fanni Williams Blog and Website as a way of thanking her for sharing these brilliant photographs with us 🙂
I'd love to hear your comments – what was the best part of the day for you? Did you shed a tear? Did you do anything to celebrate? Best dressed guest? Worst dressed guest?!? Let's share some Royal Wedding Day love as we enjoy the 'honeymoon period' 🙂
Sunday love to you all,
Annabel xXx
