Afternoon all! I do hope you've popped by this morning's inspiration boards, and left your top 5 reasons to make you smile, here already 🙂
I told you I'd try to squeeze in a lovley real wedding today and I mean to be true to my word. This lovely DIY/budget friendly wedding is such a breath of fresh air, so cute, so peppered with pretty little details.
Scott & Danielle got married on 25th June 2011 at the High House Farm Brewery in Matfen, Northumberland.
The couple were very careful to keep an eye on the budget when planning their wedding. Danielle's wedding dress was infact a purchase from EBay and cost less than £100! And I adore Danielle's Whichgoose headpiece – great choice lady! 😉
"We were on a pretty tight budget so I spent a few weeks scouring Ebay for dresses. I knew that I wanted a short dress as I’m not the tallest of girls, so when I spotted this one I knew I had to go for it.
And at £80, it was a snip too!"

"Kim from Fine and Funky Events provided all the fab birdcages, watering cans, vintage bike, signs, photo corner and bunting.
I made some hand painted signs and extra bunting and we also brought along some bits and bobs from home like the old suitcases. It all had a very rustic feel to fit in with the farm…."
"My Mum gave me away. My Dad passed away when I was 17 so that was one of the parts of the day when everyone got a bit emotional.
She also did a reading which was lyrics from a Nick Drake song (Northern Sky) that my Dad loved, so we all shed a tear during that…"
"We sent out Sweet Pea seeds with all our invites and asked guests to bring along their flowers with them. We had a sweet pea station on arrival so that they could put their flowers into jars and bottles that we had collected. My Mum did the bouquets, birdcages and watering cans and did such an amazing job!"
"Scott and I had been together for only 2 years when he proposed to me. We’d just moved back to Newcastle after living in Glasgow for a while and he took me to the beloved Tyne Bridge to ask me. After I’d got over the shock and said yes (obviously) we had a rather exquisite pint of cider in the pub. It’s all glamour with us! I think that says it all really though- we’re relaxed down to earth people and we wanted a relaxed down to earth day. We had the best day of our lives and our friends and family all commented on what a good time they’d had. Perfect!"
"We didn’t really have favours but we did have a sweetie table filled with treats for people to help themselves. We also had an ice cream stand which came from Vallum Farm- just down the road from the venue. http://www.vallumfarm.co.uk/"
Words of Wedded Wisdom….
"You don’t have to spend a fortune! We had a very small budget but we had an amazing day and didn’t feel that we missed out on anything. All we wanted was for our friends and family to have a great day that they would remember. The day was definitely ‘us’ and that’s all we wanted really!
We’re both quite relaxed people so we wanted our day to feel like that too. The venue dictated how our day looked and felt and I suppose if we had any theme it was ‘Vintage style English Country’/ ‘Piss up in a Brewery!’. To be honest though, we just picked things that we liked and hoped that it would all go together!"
Ahhh, feel good Friday ;) Congratulations Scott and Danielle! And big thanks to Newcastle Wedding Photographer, Katie Byram Photography…
" Katie was so lovely and made us feel really relaxed throughout the day as neither of us are that comfortable getting our photograph taken. She really understood the feel of our wedding and the type of photography that we wanted and I am so so happy with the results!"
