Jenny Packham Sparkly Sequin Love for a Relaxed and Stylish London Wedding…

Morning guys and girls 😉 Are you hooked up the Love My Dress Facebook page? I post many real wedding previews on there, like I have just done here, here and here {oh how I cannot *WAIT* to share this wedding}.  Get yourself on over and 'Like' the Facebook page if you haven't already – you can also follow Love My Dress on Twitter 😉

OK, let's get this Thursday going with a beautiful London wedding, shot by the very fabulous Jodie Chapman.

Lucy & John got married on 16 October last year, at  Bush Hall, Uxbridge Road, London

I absolutely adore London Bride Lucy's sequin wedding dress – a design by Jenny Packham called 'Tahlia'…

"I always knew that I wanted something that I felt comfortable in and wasn't too formal but still had the wow factor.  I had seen it on the internet a year previously and had loved it but then I kind of forgot about it.  Then after trawling through various boutiques and getting totally disheartened at the amount of sleeveless wedding dresses (why is this such a big thing?!!) – it was the last dress I tried on in Jenny Packham and I totally fell in love with it.

Although really simple looking, it's truly beautiful and quite ethereal looking and so intricate with all the sequins handstitched in swirls -  the light just danced off it and it also really suited the feel of Bush Hall…"

'I wore a gorgeous pair of satin and leather custom made Emmy Shoes with an art deco style design done with beading and crystals.  Although a bit pricey I loved that I got to chose all the elements to the shoe and the height of the heel.  And it's true – they really are comfortable.  A godsend when you are on your feet all day…."

I can vouch for all of that. I wore Emmy shoes on my wedding day too, all 4 inches of them, and hey were unbelievably comfortable. I adore  Emmy Shoes – you can see Emmy shoes feature on Love My Dress here – well, well worth the money, a true investment into a pair of heels that can be wore again too after your wedding!

What a stunning dress – I love the chiffon, sequined shoulder shawl…a tiny bit reminiscent of Kate Moss's wedding dress, methinks…

"I also wore a stunning Jenny Packham headband with pearls and swarovski crystals that I fell in love with but it was rather expensive (typically) however two of my gorgeous and very generous friends surprised me with it as a gift…."

Amanda Wilgrave at 'Flirty' {no website link provided} provided the florals on the day…

"We wanted seasonal flowers, that matched the vintagey feel of Bush Hall. As neither of us really knew much about flowers apart from the obvious, we were really guided by Amanda who was able to tell us what would work best and we entrusted her to choose the particular flowers.  Again we really wanted to stay away from anything too big or formal…."

"Bush Hall is pretty stunning all on its own with the beautiful chandeliers and the use of the stagelights and the glitterball means you don't need to add much more so we kept things to a minimum and let the hall be the focus point…."

"As Bush Hall, is not licenced for marriages we actually got married the day before at the Old Marylebone Town Hall with just our family and a couple of close friends.

Being the atheist things that we are but still wanting all our friends and family to be part of our ceremony we decided on having a humanist blessing at Bush Hall where we got to totally personalise our service, writing our own vows and promises which was really special.…"

We chose Bush Hall, for 3 reasons really:-

* I was living on the Uxbridge Road, (about 200m from the venue) in 1997 when John and I first got together so there was some sentimental reason behind it!

*  we knew we wanted live music to play a large part of our day as John is a musician and our mutual love of music has always played a large part in our relationship. (Bush Hall is still used now as a music venue so they had all the set up ready for live music – a definite plus!)

*  the hall has a lovely slightly decadent (those chandeliers and red velvet!) but also a really relaxed vibe about it which really suited what we wanted for the day and everyone we dealt with from Bush Hall were so helpful and friendly."

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"I think the biggest thing I learnt was to let go and everything does not have to be perfect, you don't have to spend thousands upon thousands of pounds and whatever happens; surrounded by your loved ones you'll have a fab day whatever. I also think that it's really important to keep things personal as possible – that everything you choose is a real reflection of both you and your husband.

Our biggest thing was that it had to be'us' – not overly formal (neither of us a formal people) and that it was relaxed.  Bush Hall led us to have a more vintagey vibe.  I had been pretty much glued to various wedding blogs as we planned our wedding.  I loved the more relaxed attitude that many American weddings appear to have so in some ways I wanted to emulate that in ours and steer clear of the set colour theme, everything matching kind of thing."

"We had setbacks (and lots of tears!) when the wedding had to be postponed earlier in the year and my closest friend was then unable to be a bridesmaid for the new date and then at the last minute John's mum wasn't well enough to attend on the day – all heartbreaking but my eternally chilled husband told me that at the end of the day it was about us two getting married and making that commitment to each other and that was all that mattered.

I also have to add that we were also so fortunate that everyone – from Jodie our photographer, the Jenny Packham boutique, Bush Hall, Samira at Beauty Call and Sara and Martin our caterers without question all accommodated the postponement of our wedding with no fuss at what was an incredibly stressful time and we will both be eternally grateful for that. All of them were complete superstars. And in the end my husband was completely right. It may have taken us a while to get their but the only person that mattered to me on the day was him and we had such a fab, memorable day, filled with love…"
