Happy lunch time folks 😉 Did you see ‘One Born Every Minute‘ last night? What wonderfully heart-warming stuff, I am still smiling about it today – best episode ever. And congratulations are in order today too for Lucy Ledger who gave birth to a little baby boy yesterday! Well done Lucy! I’m looking forward to hearing more about your gorgeous new bundle of love. This wedding is brought to you by possibly the sweetest couple in wedding land – Charis and Owen of o&c Photography, who were lucky enough to photograph the wedding of Carys & Michael on 4th August.
The couple chose the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel in Coychurch, Bridgend as their venue, and Carys wore the sensational 50’s inspired ‘Bardot’ wedding dress by Stephanie Allin, purchased from ‘White Bride’ in Narberth, Pembrokeshire…
“I adore the elegance of the 1950’s, and Bardot was the first and only dress that I tried on. I immediately knew it was the one for me. I loved the 50’s tea length to it and the sage green belt with the tea stained rose attached. It was so different, like nothing I had seen before…”

“As soon as we met Claire from The Bee Orchid we knew we had exactly the same taste in so many things. Not only did she create stunning flowers, she also shared lots of hints and tips with regards to styling the whole day, above and beyond her duty! She was super fun to work with throughout the whole process and her passion for all things vintage was amazing.
I love David Austin roses for their ‘blousy’, large blooms and old fashioned look, which was in-keeping with the vintage style of the day. I also especially loved the pearls draping from the centrepiece candelabras, I felt it really added to the 50’s look…”
“I walked down the aisle with my Father Glyn, to a song that Mike and I both loved called ‘Oak’, which was written by our guitarist Jose Albela. After we were married Mike and I walked back to Jose playing ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ by Stevie Wonder. We loved it!”
“We had an amazing guitarist called Jose Albela who played throughout the day…”
“Strangely, one of the first things I purchased for the wedding was the bird cake toppers. We also had a five-tier cupcake tower from Dreamy Delights. Each cupcake was decorated with amazing edible buttons and pearls to add to the vintage look. Cupcakes of different flavours -raspberry, orange, vanilla and lemon. The birds sat on a traditional cake as the top tier, which was lemon drizzle flavoured…”
“We hired Vintage tea cups hired from The Vintage Tea Party Company and used paper pom poms to decorate the vneue in the evening. Each guest also received a selection of French macaroons which were placed inside vintage tea cups…”
“Guests were given props on a stick (50’s glasses, moustaches, bow ties etc…) and could pose inside an empty vintage frame and have a polaroid taken, which would then be placed inside the guestbook alongside their comment…”
“I collected old apothecary jars and filled them with old fashioned sweets like bon bons…”
“A DJ in the evening who played songs selected by the guests. Guests were required to choose two songs when returning their RSVP cards. (we wanted to ensure that everyone danced all night!)…”
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
“We were determined from the start to make our day a joint project. You see and hear of so many brides planning the whole process on their own, we couldn’t imagine anything worse. We both really enjoyed the planning and found it fun.
One thing that we were determined to have was a relaxed and fun day with an emphasis on our guests enjoying the day as much as us. Michael was great at adding those fun touches. Planning it together and not taking things too seriously was so important to us…”
Such a sweet and lovely wedding! Huge thanks to Charis and Owen of o&c Photography for sharing these lovely images…
“One of the first things we started looking into was a photographer, however, we found that we didn’t like the usual wedding photography style as they seemed very artificial and posed. We found that many photographers were much the same.
We wanted to find someone to reflect our fun nature, as you can see from our photos with the lollipops we definitely found the people for the job. It really put our mind at rest throughout the whole process knowing that we had amazing photographers who knew exactly what we liked. Owen and Charis were awesome throughout.”
Are there any other Stephanie Allin brides in the house today? I’d love to hear from you – which design have you gone for?
