A very good afternoon ladies to you ladies – and gents! 😉
As my attention focuses to the summer and actually having a holiday this year, I've been thinking more and more about all you lovely Brides opting for a destination or summer coastal style wedding and wanted to share with you some of the inspiration that's been whirring around in my head of late.
I just love the rustic 'just married' sign below. Talking of rustic signs, you have until midnight tonight to win your own personalised set rustic style wedding signs here!

I've included some bridal style ideas below that I adore. The The Toulouse wedding dress below right there is by the wonderous Claire Pettibone {all hail thou!} I love it's relaxed style and how it's been teamed with a variation on the vintage style Julietcap veil – this wouldn't look out of place on the beach or in a pretty venue near the seaside would it? Just gorgeous. If you want to see more from Claire Pettibone by the way, look right here.
I included an image of a Bride in flat heels {heels really not a good idea in the sand!} and the pair below was from Dune. To be fair, a pair of sparkly flats is a great idea for any bride, any time.
I was trying to find an image of a beautiful, natural 'just thrown together' type bouquet, but was drawn instead to this birds-eye view {see 4 below} of some bouquets by the wonderful 'The Flower Appreciation Society'. I just loved how the colours, all pale pinks, blues and greens – perfect for what would be my ideal beach style celebration. You could go little posy, pretty wrist corsage and even fill little glass jars with similar colours/flowers and place them down the aisle…

I've been particularly inspired by some of the destination and seaside style weddings I've featured on Love My Dress over the past year or so so have linked to these whenever it's relevant. I particularly fell in love with this destination wedding, initially for the beautiful floral decor on the beach {see 1 below}, isn't it dreamy? All pastel colours and driftwood, so so pretty. By the way I LOVE driftwood – we are lucky living nearby a river and our garden is full of pieces that have washed up and make pretty garden decor – driftwood always conjurs up images of being by the sea for me.
I'm a big fan of wedding stationery designers Artcadia and love this retro design they've come up with top right below – perfect for a chic overseas wedding invite don't you think? I liked the idea of also having place cards or menus laid out in rustic style crates {see 3 below} that you could paint or fill with flowers – a lovely decor idea for a relaxed seaside style wedding.
I got married by the seaside myself and as well as using pretty pale blue mussel shells to decorate our tables {which my half-crazy husband spent literally hours polishing up for shine!}, I also invested in some gorgeous little heart-shaped shells {see 4 below} which we asked our guests to take home too. I still have a little bag full upstairs and if I'm sending a friend a gift in the post, I'll always pop one of these inside. These are from the wonderful The Lavender Room and cost £17 for approximately 20 {you will fall in love with them and end up buying about 200 like I did!!}…

For anything beach or coastal I like to keep a relatively soft colour pallette in mind but have tried to feature some shades above that show you don't just have to stick to pretty pastel blue or pink. I'm loving the mustard and orange shades that came out through these inspiration boards.
