I was just blown away by bride, Saira and her weding attire and beautiful accessories, the exquisite accents of gold, red and blue creating an explosion of colour. I am generally fascinated by the beauty and creativity of Non-Western weddings and this one is truly a beauty to behold.
Saira and Rizwan married via a Muslim ceremony at Cams Hall in Hampshire in April this year…

Saira’s beautiful dress was sourced from the Karachi region of Pakistan. In addition to the traditional red and golden threads popular in Asian Muslim wedding dresses, Saira also chose to incorporate royal blue and turquoise hues into her outfit.
The paler blue then influenced her choice of jewellery and accessories, whilst inadvertently complimenting the interiors of Cams Hall décor as well…
Cams Hall boasts beautifully manicured grounds that can house marquees of up to 500 guests. Rizwan and Saira combined the quintessentially English backdrop of a stately home with a contemporary setting for their celebrations on the 21st April this year.
Saira made use of Cams’ bridal suite to get ready for the wedding, before descending the Portland stone staircase of the Inner Hall to the Oval Room for the Nikkah (ceremony). Outside, Rizwan and his family entered the marquee to great fanfare from traditional bhangra drummers as they took their place on stage…
It is perhaps the mixture of traditions and cultures that made Rizwan and Saira’s wedding so mesmerising. They chose to hold their Muslim ceremony and celebrations at Cams Hall in Fareham, Hampshire, with gorgeous sweeping views over the Solent.

During the Walima, or marriage banquet, orbs of dark red roses, carnations and gerberas sat on top of golden candelabras, which also doubled as ingenious buffet displays. Platters of traditional Asian dishes lined the stems of each candelabrum, allowing for a communal feast of mouth-watering cuisine…
“I had an idea of what I wanted but through talking to Rupa – she was able to bring my ideas into reality and beyond. We had fresh flower arrangements on every table. We went for a classic look, as my wedding dress was very bright so we wanted something subtle.”
Having been given away by her brothers to the sound of ‘It’s Life’ by Niraj Chang, Saira, her new husband and their guests enjoyed entertainment throughout the day from Storm Roadshow, a leading bhangra entertainment company.
“Our wedding was the first Asian wedding to be held at Cams Hall. The staff were so helpful and the interior of Cams Hall itself was divine.”
Rupa created a neutral backdrop bathed in light for Saira and Rizwan’s wedding platform, complete with opulent gilded white furniture. Large white urns bursting with flowers flanked either side of the stage, allowing the kaleidoscope of colours in Saira’s dress to take centre stage…

It’s wonderful to see east meet west in this explosion of colour and style, proving that you can make any space your own for your wedding day.
