Emmy Shoes ~ Beautiful Wedding Shoes, Belts, Bags and Headpieces

I make absolutely  no secret of the fact I am the worlds biggest fan of Emmy Shoes.  I wore a pair on my wedding day, and I'm constantly lusting after various Emmy Designs – especially this latest pair, (in hot pink) which I saw Emmy herself wearing last Friday with a pair of black opaque tights – it was a true style envy moment.

Emmy Scarterfield is adorable. Really adorable – in a sweet, friendly and almost slightly shy kind of way.  When I spent time with her last Friday, she was so excited about the launch of her brand new website, something she has been working on for the past 12 months, for the benefit of brides to be and fashion lovers who are looking for a truly exquisite pair of shoes.  And Emmy's new website is dream for all you lovers of sexy, sparkly, suede, bespoke/however you like them but always sexy heels.

With new pages dedicated to showcasing Emmy's bridal shoes, her coloured fashion shoes in her new boutique area, her exquisite headpieces (also see this feature here and belts, I ought really be issuing a warning about sending you off in this direction – and let you know that you purse might well be coming back a whole lot lighter.

Inspired by the elegance of the twenties, thirties through to
the fifties, Emmy Shoes echo those eras capturing the timeless glamour
with a modern edge to create pure sexiness.

"We have spent over twelve months developing our new site and are really excited about the results, so really hope you like it.  It has been divided into easy sections, as we offer ready to wear both bridal and evening shoes, which we are calling ‘boutique’, plus our bespoke service.  Brides can also search via general styles such as peep toe or round toe.

Shoes are such an important part of the outfit, so hopefully the site can give brides inspiration and instant access to our wide array of styles, colours and embellishments"

I asked Emmy, when should a bride start choosing her wedding shoes? Is it more sensible to wait until you have the dress, or get the shoes first and take it from there?! And how much of a priority should the shoes be in terms of the whole ensemble?

"I always recommend to start looking once the dress is chosen because depending on the style, shoes made to order take a few months to make.  Also most shops will require you to have your accessories and lingerie with you at the dress fitting, as not only can the heel height alter your posture but it is also very crucial when adjusting the actual length.

When I got married I wore a thirties round toe shoe that I designed
for my wedding called the Emmy shoe, which is now one of our most
popular styles. This was worn with my Jenny Packham dress, who is a dear
friend.  In the evening I changed into a beaded T-bar sandal to add
some glamour.

"For me shoes are a perfect finishing touch for any look.  They
also affect the way you move and stand in your dress – shoes can make
you feel a million dollars! Comfort is also key, and if brides do have
special sizes or want to create something very personal, they can opt
for our bespoke service.

I would suggest allocating 50% of your dress budget on accessories.
Shoes are a brilliant investment which can be worn again and again."

"It is really important to look authentic so for example if you are going for a shorter fifties dress then the shoes are paramount and should be in keeping with the 50’s era.

A well made shoe should be designed always comfortable and support the foot in the right places no matter how high or strappy.

Did you get that ladies? High heels should be comfortable. Yes!

The coloured shoes above by the way are available in Emmy's new online boutique.

"For brides ivory is the most popular but if you are going for a more blush or oyster shade then shoes should be chosen in tonal colour or you could choose metallic as a highlight which would be great to wear again."

"Like dress shopping try on as many shoes shapes and styles as possible until you find a pair you never want to take off. It could be the first pair or the last pair.

Signs of a well crafted shoe include a leather sole, the heel should be perfectly balanced even if it is very high, the straps and intricate details should ve very fine.  The shoes should be leather lined and be extremely comfortable, soft materials and flexible so the shoe moulds to your foot. Extra details should be hand finished."

There you have it my loves, shoes, it would seem, that are from some kind of celestial place.  Shoe heaven?

I cannot rate the quality and levels of comfort of my Emmy shoes highly enough. I wore 4 inch heels all day on my wedding day and didn't feel the need to moan about it once – that is saying something (ask Franky!). Very seriously, I jest not, they are absolutely worth every single penny.  Emmy also designs mid and low/flat heel beautiful wedding day shoes as well – you really must have a mooch through her beautiful new online store.

You can find Emmy Shoes on Twitter and Facebook and Emmy also has her own blog.

Happy heel hunting you glamorous gals!
