OK, so, I might just have put the phone down to BBC Radio Tees, and agreed to do a live studio radio interview tomorrow morning between 10.45am and 11am about my role as a wedding blogger – and my book! You can tune in here tomorrow to listen live! Eeeeek!).
In this late afternoon post (because we love you and know it's that time of day when you need a little extra inspiration pick-up!), I'm so happy to be sharing the beautiful wedding of Georgina and Gary had a beautiful Lake Como wedding on 1 September 2012
That blog post I wrote about detail and not worrying about it yesterday? This effortlessly beautiful and fuss-free day was precisely what I was talking about – simple, natural elegance. Yes, I know that the glorious backdrop and rather breath taking dress help to make this one beautiful set of photographs, but I love them because of how talented Mr Ed Peers has captured this couple so naturally in an environment they both love.
"My dress was by Mira Zwillinger. I
loved how unusual it was – I wanted a dress that was a bit different. I
loved the lace and how pretty the dress was. The dress was also
lightweight so perfect for an Italian wedding (although it wasn’t that
hot in the end!)."

Just look at that dress! So incredibly elegant. This particular design is called 'Charlotte'….
"Gary and I met through mutual friends; my best school friend and
bridesmaid introduced us! Gary took me away for a surprise trip and
proposed on the balcony over looking Lake Como. We then we went for a boat ride and champagne before dinner. We were engaged for almost exactly one year before getting married on 1st September.
We wanted to come back to the exact same place for our wedding.
It was such a beautiful spot. Everything was planned around the venue –
Laglio, Lake Como, Italy. That was our inspiration. It was the first thing we decided on and we went from there."
"My bridesmaids wore dresses by Freda (Matches own brand).
We didn’t have matching suits for the best men and we didn’t have ushers
– all our best friends were at the wedding so it would have meant
everyone was an usher! The best men choose their own ties – we tried to
match them in.
Our florist was Barbara Botti of Cadenabbia. We wanted very
natural flowers. The flowers in the church were white roses and olives."
"Our photographer was Ed Peers.
We love our photos and had a fantastic time with our photographer. I
knew immediately after looking at Ed’s website that he was the
photographer for us. I debated long and hard about most wedding related
decisions – this one was easy. We couldn’t recommend Ed more highly.
Best wedding photographer in the world!"
"I did my own make-up after treating myself to some nice
products from Space NK and getting some good advice from a make-up
artist there. Hair was by a local hairdresser in Tremezzo."
"The caterer, Class Eventi, provided
our cake. I wanted a three-tier cake. The Italians tried to convince me
that I should have a single layer cake because it’s traditional and we
didn’t have a large number of people. I was not expecting the biggest
three tier cake you’ve ever seen! We laughed when we saw it. It was a

will be worth all the effort. Start making a few decisions and the rest
will fall into place. For us the most important thing was having our
closest friends and family with us on the day. We didn’t have a large
wedding but we loved how intimate it was and wouldn’t have it any other
