Gin Fizz Photographic ~ Vintage Inspired Documentary Wedding Photography + Exclusive Reader Offer

Before we head in to our meaty afternoon discussion post, we’d like to share details of Gin Fizz Photographic with you.  Gin Fizz specialise in vintage inspired documentary wedding and portrait photography, with an artistic, filmic quality. The talented lady behind the lens, Helen Rimell, has both an MA and undergraduate degree in Documentary Photography and Photojournalism. Helen has also won a number of awards for her work, including the Hugo-Young Guardian Newspaper Internship.

‘I am in love with love. I am passionate about photography and adore weddings of all shapes and sizes. I am an incurable romantic, and there is nothing that I don’t love about weddings, (except maybe the fact that I haven’t had one of my own yet). Every wedding I do is an absolute pleasure to shoot; getting up for work of a morning always puts a smile on my face.’

‘I am pretty obsessed with all things vintage, especially the period between the 1920s and the 1950s, and enjoy nothing more than combining my passions for photography and vintage in one lovely polkadot package all tied up with ribbon. I have been shooting weddings for over fourteen years and never get tired of my job, as each wedding is unique.’

‘When I am not snapping wonderful nuptials and lovely couples I work as a documentary photographer and photojournalist, covering stories in India, Afghanistan, Kashmir and New Zealand, as well as the UK. I have exhibited work in a number of photo festivals and galleries around the world, and have been published in The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Times of India, and Vice Magazine. I am represented by Haytham Pictures based in Paris. If you are interested in seeing my documentary work, please visit my website www.helenrimell.co.uk.’

Her camera is always in her hand, ensuring she doesn’t miss a moment.

‘I draw on my experience with, and love of, people to ensure that your personality, individuality and style are visible throughout my photographs. I want each one of my images to exude all the emotions and feelings of the day. I prefer to use natural and available light to create beautiful, atmospheric, artistic work.’

‘Many things inspire me including the ocean, the sunshine, walks in the park, love, laughter, cheese & wine, and wonderful old black and white films. I have an ever-curious mind and am always looking for new ideas.’

Gin Fizz is based in London, but Helen travels internationally for her work. Coverage starts at £900 for a half day option with a DVD of high resolution digital negatives. She also only uses environmentally friendly and sustainable British suppliers for her albums, prints and coffee table books.
