The colours yellow and blue are two of my very favourite shades for styling purposes when it comes to weddings, which is why I thought you might enjoy this lovely little inspiration feature this afternoon. I also thought this might appeal as it’s full of elegant and very achievable styling suggestions – pretty lace table runners, gorgeous florals with that ‘freshly hand-picked’ appeal, cute and colourful bow ties and cakes to die for.
To be fair, a fabulous little group of suppliers came together to create these images for your enjoyment – each of whom I would personally recommend. It’s wonderful to see the creations of Faith Caton-Barber – an independent designer whose style I’ve long admired and been desperate to feature on Love My Dress®. I’m also a huge fan of cake-designer Elizabeth Solaru of Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium and it’s really good to see the Eagle Eyed Bride supplying pretty pale blue paper products too.

“Our styled shoot was based on the 2014 trend colours predicted by The Perfect Palette of pale yellow and dusty blue – a bit of a twist on the rustic theme. We saw the majority of rustic shoots were mainly based on pale pinks, purples and brown colours, so we decided to do something just a little bit different.”
“Our models for the day were real life couple Lucy and Justin. They were absolutely amazing and have done all of our wonderful work justice. They are engaged themselves and due to get married next Summer, so hopefully this shoot really inspired them for their own wedding, as well as give them some experience of being in front of the camera. They really enjoyed it and I’m sure they would recommend to any future brides and grooms that being part of a styled shoot was an incredible experience.”
“We hedged our bets and decided to do an outdoor shoot, running the gauntlet of the English rain. Luckily for us, the sun came out at all the right times and the buttercups had bloomed only a few days before – it was a perfect match for our chosen colour theme.
Obviously the English weather means that outdoor weddings are a rarity here in the UK – though we are really keen for our images to encourage couples who are considering an outdoor ceremony to really go for it.”
I was so impressed with the suppliers involved in this shoot – a truly talented bunch whose work I am already well familiar with.
“Carrie Southall of Reloved Styling was our styling wizard who brought and set up the table décor, welcome set up and styled the cake table. Faith Caton-Barber is a bespoke dressmaker who supplied four dresses – a yellow dress, a gold spotted dress, a short lace dress and a beautiful tulle skirt dress with floral lace. We thought these gowns would particularly appeal to Love My Dress readers.
Elizabeth of Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium is a luxury wedding cake maker who supplied a large 4 tier yellow cake with blue and white flowers on top and all tiers covered in small white flowers, a smaller 2 tier blue cake with yellow flowers, cupcakes with white petals on top and yellow and blue macaroons. Simply incredible cake-design and beyond delicious.”
“Flora Hall is a lovely florist who made a gypsophila crown, bouquets, button holes, table centrepieces and mini bouquets for the welcome set up and Mrs Bow Tie specialises in designer fancy bow and skinny ties.”

Gorgeous shoot. Thank you for featuring it on this lovely day.
Nice one! Really like the colour scheme and the cakes in particular 🙂
I love the harsh tweed jacket! Definitely a great alternative to the classic tux! http://madelienerose.com
