Hazaar of London ~ Beautiful & Surprising Vintage Inspired Wedding Gowns

I simply adore surprises, especially at weddings and those extraordinary moments really stand out in the memory for years. It’s also great to take a little risk and do something different. When you shake things up a little, they pop and sparkle like a good bottle of champagne. However, unless you have the budget to buy a second dress to change into, it’s been quite tricky to radically alter your evening look. That’s why I’m absolutely thrilled to introduce you to Hazaar of London and let you in on the secret that’s hidden in their beautiful gowns…

Founded by Isoline and Rachel who met at the London College of Fashion, Hazaar of London came when they were both at a friend’s wedding after studying costume design and historical dress making.

‘We always knew we shared a love of vintage and classical style icons, especially the ball gowns and dresses of past decades,’ says Rachel. ‘But when we were bridesmaids at a friend’s wedding, we noticed that people were treading on her beautiful dress and that the bride felt quite awkward in her long gown during the evening celebrations. So it got us thinking, what if we designed amazing gowns that gave brides the choice of taking off the longer part for the evening?’

And so it started – the Hazaar of London label was born and dresses that take brides stylishly from ceremony to dance floor, without the need for a second dress, started appearing at fabulous weddings across the country.

Each long-to-short gown is carefully designed to conceal the shorter dress so there’s not even a hint of the surprise to come until you’re ready to reveal all. The Hazaar of London signature look includes delicate detailing, beautiful fabrics and trims and vintage influences from a range of eras.

For example, the classic ball gown styling of Celia with its dreamy tulle skirt and demure bow detailing converts into a stunning mini-dress while Silvia becomes a playful 50s inspired dress when you’re ready to lose the full satin skirt. Hazaar’s Rose Blush collection offers a whole new level of versatility – you can select a long skirt to wear with your favourite short dress. I just love the short lace of the Violet dress along with the Viola skirt.

‘We’re quite playful in how we approach bridal design,’ says Isoline ‘and it’s really important to us that brides have a personal experience rather than ordering from a website. Our London brides can have personal appointments with us at our studios and we work closely with them to create their perfect dress. We’ve also got a wonderful stockiest in Manchester and we personally add the finishing touches that makes each dress unique.’

Unique, surprising, full of detail and carefully crafted – that sounds like absolute wedding perfection.

Hazaar of London gowns start at £1450 rising to £2350. Isoline and Rachel will be bringing their current collections to the National Wedding Show at Earls Court (26-28 September) and you’ll be able to browse the gowns on stand J71. They’ll also be exhibiting at the gorgeous Chosen Boutique Wedding Fair at Islington Town Hall on the 19^th October and they’d love to see you there.
