Before I started writing about weddings, I planned them. I now have a store of very happy memories of so many wonderful wedding days and a couple that really stick in my memory, despite the advancing years, took place at RSA House in London. So today, I’m beyond delighted to pass on the details of a forthcoming Open Day that’s taking place at this beautiful venue on 11th October. If you’re on the hunt for an undeniably special space in central London, you absolutely must read on…

RSA House on John Adam Street, between The Strand and the River Thames, is home to the iconic institution that is the Royal Society for the Arts. Behind the timeless Georgian exterior are a collection of rooms that range from the grandeur of The Great Room and the elegance of the Benjamin Franklin Room to the uber-cool Vaults which are the perfect place for an evening party. I have such clear recollections as I write this of a super glamorous bride & groom descending the candlelit stairs into the Vaults to whoops and cheers from their guests before starting the dancing at their brilliant reception.
So, what can you expect at the RSA Open Day? Well, as it’s appointment only, you can be sure of lots of personal attention and a private tour of this stunning venue. Once you’ve explored the house, you’ll finish in the Benjamin Franklin Room where delicious canapés, chilled Prosecco and other scrumptious treats from award-winning caterers Harbour & Jones will be available to sample. Each personal tour with Elise, the RSA’s amazing wedding co-ordinator, will last an hour and you’ll have ample opportunity to discuss your plans and thoughts with the team.

RSA House will absolutely be dressed to impress on the day – the awe inspiring Great Room will be set for a ceremony, complete with lighting and music, whilst the atmospheric Vaults will be split into two, one section showcasing an intimate wedding breakfast with stylish long tables and décor whilst the second area is reception-ready with a DJ and dance floor.
The continual juxtaposition of contemporary design and classical period features make RSA House such a surprising venue, perfect if you like the idea of giving each part of your wedding a totally different look and feel.
